We -- awaiting testimony from attorney general Eric Holder at this hour before a congressional committee on Capitol Hill.
This will be his first public testimony since the deadly Boston bombings.
Meantime our next guest tells Fox News that some of the forensic information from the scene of those bombings could be in Washington by today.
Here's that picture we showed you earlier of the site showing the short distance between the Lord & Taylor surveillance surveillance camera.
Police have been looking at some of that tape and where the second bomb went off.
Republican congressman Michael called Texas is chairman of the house homeland security committee.
chairman thank you so much for being here I want to start -- with that information that you had said some of the forensic information should come back today.
And they may have some of the signatures.
From the equipment can you clarify what that means.
Possibly as early as today -- -- at Quantico being examined or.
Forensics there tracers in the gunpowder and he had the pellets and -- -- ball bearings I can be traced to manufacture.
And then the device itself.
Actually have a serial number that they can Trace back to the manufacture.
-- from there they can determine where it came from.
Possibly who purchased it.
And then they can execute search warrants from there.
Which would hopefully turn up the -- I would say at this point in time -- explosive device itself is -- the best evidence.
That we have.
Who -- it down and of course yesterday there was much confusion among the news outlets and others about whether and arrests have been made or not.
Where are where do you believe having been briefed on the matter we stand today in terms of actually identifying.
A quote suspect.
Well I came out early yesterday -- -- had information from.
The Justice Department that that was not accurate information.
That was being reported by CNN and it basically stop them.
Also story from perpetuated.
I asked -- upon tong and this morning on the homeland security committee.
If she I was aware of anybody -- -- -- who's a suspect in this bombing.
And she said no there there is not so that's been confirmed.
But the next best evidence we have quite frankly or the surveillance camera videos.
From Lord & Taylor.
And some of the videos that some of private citizens -- yeah.
I personally believe that they had -- did in very close to identifying on film.
The two or more suspects.
That possibly could have been involved with the bombing.
And when that does occur I would insist that the FBI would release those photos.
To the general public so that they can.
That possibly identified.
I wanna I wanna Parse the language you just use there you personally believe that they may be very close to identifying the two or more suspects identified on the tapes.
Do you believe that there are two.
Or more suspects.
That they're looking -- in this case.
I I believe there or is probably at least two.
I don't have confirmation of that information.
It's just as a former federal prosecutor.
And with the evidence I've seen us for not evidence -- the information.
Have been on C.
That's that would be money -- conjecture.
-- -- tunnel spoke more broadly about individuals.
Seen on the tapes that they would like to have more information on that they would like to talk to leaving it open.
For us to speculate about whether she's talking about suspects are just people who were standing there who might have seen somebody or seeing some thing.
Do you have any more specific information that in terms of forget just individuals but actual suspects or PR persons of interest we're talking at about at least two.
Well I think you know with respect some videos and the pictures I do them.
I do think that there are reviewing all these photos to make sure they didn't write the last and they -- his release photos.
Of individuals that may not be possible suspects so.
In in my judgment that's what -- the FBI is with this with this information.
We did have the Saudi lead.
And that turned as I've been told not to -- out.
I've not been aware of any other specific leads in this case.
Which as you know me as a prosecutor and first 24 hour through important and we -- it goes by that gets colder or more critical -- and I do believe that FBI's.
Dana -- -- look growing optimism with respect to what they're seeing on the videotapes.
And hopefully with the and with the friends -- it will come out shortly on the explosive device.
Do you believe but if I and I respect that -- there are some things you can disclose to us and some things are not -- I am pushing you on something you can't disclose feel free to tell me that that's -- -- -- If if I'm not I want to follow up because it's an important point about.
Do you believe -- had you been told that they in terms of suspects or persons of interest we're talking about it we.
I think that's that's the issue.
Are they truly suspects I think there are pictures.
Other than floated around.
Being reviewed and analyzed.
And I think that that is the you hit the -- had that is the true issue as they examine this video footage.
And the pictures are they true suspects in the bombing case now they have to be very careful here is a big high profile case the last thing they want is make -- mistake can release.
Photos of people who -- just.
In an innocent bystanders.
Yeah I mean they're -- a tough position because.
Potentially the public can be of help to them and yet once you release.
An actual photograph and say is this person I mean that you've.
That person's life is changed forever and you know we now remember what happened Richard jewel in the wake of the Atlanta bombings in the Atlanta Olympics.
Do you believe they will release a photograph or surveillance video of somebody at some point today or tomorrow.
I can't tell you the timing but I do believe they will release.
But what I think the you know what they're trying to determine our suspect as a legal term.
And as a prosecutor that you can't.
-- they -- on this or you know jeopardize your prosecutions so.
Would they have to legally you look at is this truly suspects make that legal determination before they.
Release any any kind of footage or photos but I do believe that.
I do believe they will be in the near future.
Do you have information that they're making any progress putting names on the faces that they've identified in these videotapes.
That I can't tell you.
We can do a lot of biometrics.
I know that says some of the footage sort of -- But you know in this the great thing in this modern day of cell phones and you know that people were taken pictures -- -- And that's them if anybody does had pictures that seem to turn those into the FBI would be extremely helpful in this -- -- Before LA -- benefit of heartbreak in thirty seconds.
The incident in Texas you say it's an industrial accident not terror as of right now.
Yes and an -- and again just like -- -- to my heart goes out to them.
-- -- Texans.
And the families of victims.
I did talk to the director of the department public safety -- -- Steve McCraw who confirmed to me that I reserve belief that this was a and accidents -- workplace accident.
Chairman thank you so much for being here don't go away spend more right --
