On the scene everywhere I take a moment away from Watertown relieve of some of these live pictures but there's been a lot of questions raised -- -- -- -- and origin.
Add these to let individuals Martha McAllen is standing by with us in studio and Martha you have more on that now -- Janet we heard from the uncle.
Young terrorists as they are being called this morning and for -- very good reason he said that he believed this had nothing to do with Chechnya.
But it has raised a lot of questions about whether or not they were trained and where.
And what the background on all of this is that may provide some clues to how all of this.
Came about Steve Harrigan looking into this for us this morning he joins me now live from Miami good morning Steve.
Morning Martha I expect a lot of people -- are wondering just where Chechnya is on the map.
And -- for whatever reason Chechens my trying to carry out a terror attack.
Against the US I remember in 1994.
Back in Moscow.
I was wondering where -- was on the map as well that's because they just start a war with Russia.
Russia said that war would last just two hours that they -- clean it up instead that war lasted ten years and extremely.
Brutal war over the past decade since we've seen a number of brutal terrorist attacks carried out by Chechens but the targets have always been inside Russia.
A theater attack you remember where many patrons were gassed to death.
And also a brutal attack against an elementary school attack which really shocked the entire world.
So we've seen -- terror attacks against Russia Chechnya has a gripe against Russia they say they've invaded attacked destroyed their country.
And really it was a brutal war because when you got out of an armored personnel care in the main city of Grozny.
Ten years ago it looked like you were walking on the moon the Russians pretty much decimated the entire area Chechens on their side -- well.
Now we're seeing something different and it surprises me this morning to hear Chechens could be behind the terror attack against the United States the US has been one of many nations who has criticized Russia.
For their treatment of -- so it really raises the question what could this mean.
If there area have attacked their target is no longer just Russia but perhaps something wider now include -- US.
And one more point to make about Chechnya I remember when the war first started there.
You can go into catching passes there were ordinary people policeman school teachers.
A fast forward a few years after people lost family members after villages got wiped out.
It was a very different people you could really see the war radicalize.
The Chechen people.
You couldn't go down there anymore as a journalist to get kidnapped you get your throat slit.
For the past twenty years -- has been one of the most dangerous places on earth.
And we've seen radicals from all around the Muslim world go into Chechnya to fight against the Russians.
Now what we could be seeing.
Chechen terrorists coming out of Chechnya to fight other places we've seen them in Afghanistan -- -- in Iraq and now perhaps the first time seeing them.
-- the US homeland --
