A series of relief.
And tonight in Boston many are celebrating because about a 102 hours after the attack -- the Boston Marathon.
And after a string of shootings that left this city and region on edge police took the only remaining suspect in the custody.
For those families that lost loved ones.
Or -- suffered injuries but the live with the rest of their lives.
For a police officer a young men start your career at MIT.
In a police officer with the MBTA who almost lost his life.
And through neighborhoods that lived in fear for an entire day.
-- -- Hands in his first responders drove away from the scene in Watertown just a couple of hours ago.
And take a look at what we saw over on commonwealth avenue where hundreds of -- College students marched to the state house.
So in -- city and region -- seen so much anguish and too many tears this week we're finally seeing some smiles.
And an enormous sense of relief because of what this image represents.
It's the first photo of this second suspect shot through the window of the ambulance carrying into the hospital.
He has what appears to be blood on his face this man identified as the younger of the two Brothers suspected of bombing the Boston Marathon on Monday.
Killing these three people and wounding more than 180.
The suspect's older brother on the right hand side of your screen now died after a -- -- with -- police.
Very early on Friday morning but his younger brother was still on the run we believe.
Officials locked down the area all around Boston shut down the mass transit shut down taxis.
Authorities told more than a million people to stay home state indoors were closed schools closed.
Teams went door to door searching for any sign of the last suspect.
And they simply couldn't find it.
Then just a couple of minutes before 7 o'clock Boston time tonight the news started breaking.
Shots fired in Watertown.
Police went racing to the scene.
-- -- -- -- -- -- And that was the violent start of a standoff that ended with a team bringing the suspect in the custody.
And now we know how they found it.
It was thanks to a man who had already been checked his home had already been searched.
And you then noticed something strange.
He walked outside and he saw blood on -- boat in the backyard.
You got open looks far on the -- -- -- -- -- he looked an assortment coupled with blood and retreated and called us.
We set up a perimeter around that -- and over the over the course of the next.
Our -- we exchanged gunfire with the suspect who was inside the boat.
And ultimately the hostage rescue team the FBI made an entry into the boat and remove the suspect who was still alive in the -- And with that the terror threat was over and tonight Boston and greater New England -- -- This man is accused of calling them causing a great deal of -- but tonight is agony is only beginning.
Adam Housley is live tonight that Israel hospital here in Boston -- a police say the suspect is in serious condition.
Yes everywhere in the same -- suspect tears in very serious condition.
But I -- is a lot of information we are getting some bits and pieces coming out from the hospital here.
-- that he is in surgery right now that he does have multiple injuries we know one of those injuries is a gun shot.
We don't know that is that is that one more serious ones.
Is it self inflicted is up and -- came from the opposite all those answers will come in title we just know at this hour separate.
They're doing what they can't -- as possible to ensure the suspect lives we're told as of right now they believe that he will make it through.
Again I haven't got into depth there to detail what they're doing at this hour -- -- that he is right now in surgery with multiple injuries at least one of those injuries is a gunshot.
And Dutch shepherd at this hour they say he should be.
At least make it at this point of barring any change in his condition of course Sheppard.
-- our understanding among other things a shot in the head and that shot in the hand I'm guessing securities might side.

Which is little bits and pieces coming out but anywhere you move around Beth Israel this is a large medical campus here there -- police officers everywhere at every door at every entrance every exit.
Every driveway in every driveway out even at the Children's Hospital across the street and inside because -- officers walking around as well.
We have also told of course that there -- officers near the operating room and know the officers stationed outside his recovery room which will be of course it's some sort of intensive care unit so there's a significant police presence -- shepherded back at the doorway -- my right which you cannot see from our camera angle.

And they are everywhere on the street corners -- again as you go in and out of the emergency room -- in your car.
