Apparently with a fever and irregular blood pressure he'd been treated since then never release -- since April 18.
He had been battling this succumbing to those health issues today Jones -- Tennessee native leaves behind a country music world in mourning his home state of Tennessee.
Having fond memories of a man referred to as the greatest country singer alive.

Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee told Fox News radio today and quoting.
George Jones was such a legend he and Nancy have lived in my district in Tennessee and what a dear dear family.
His contributions to country music his colorful personality the energy that he brought to entertaining.

The Jones grew up in -- month Texas where -- -- on the streets for tips its first number one hit with in 1959 you may remember with white lightning.
He and -- -- married in 1969 she was just one of war marriages.
As a parent a couple were known as the king and queen of country music.
Jones won and when that went on to settle several number one country -- including we're gonna hold on in 1974.
Of the couple then divorced -- two years later in 1976.
But during much of his life -- Jones battled alcoholism.
And drug abuse earning him one of his other nickname no show Jones.
For failing to appear -- so many concerts.
And during his forty year career he actually later recorded a song by that name no show Jones he recorded more than a 150 albums that in 1992 the Country Music Association recognized him.
By electing him to the country music hall of fame.
In 2008 George Jones was -- Kennedy Center honoree.
