Welcome to another week at least of my lifestyle -- -- Latino from -- -- students -- battles and I got -- get into my life on my -- and I'm Carlos -- junior managing editor.
This is -- segment that connection to the American Latino experience and brings us all to Ohio place.
You can sell some of the final dividend.
Or write your parents -- -- -- -- -- -- always -- celebrate -- special -- -- -- -- my -- my -- You try to create as you come -- my -- -- my treatment section.
These are individuals were making a difference for example Hudson Taylor he's making headlines -- before the great looks.
But also from here -- -- we'll get straight -- for the lesbian gay bisexual and transgendered community.
His stepfather of this property the allies -- organization and I games.
Aren't they gave rise from believes -- -- New York City alone there have been answered and that person -- so far easier in mountain area that's according to that city.
That's right everyone is still talking about mark Carson a man who.
It -- it was killed in what is being called a hate crime just last week as he was walking down the street.
Stopping these kind of attacks helps motivate our guest Taylor.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- When it comes to.
LG BT hate -- Well I think we've seen a lot of progress being made.
On the state level marriage equality getting past.
About twelve states.
-- but certainly.
For all the progress there is still societal shift that I don't think we're we're quite there yet.
So there is further education further conversations that need to be happening because.
You know what I hate crime happens to it to anybody within the LG BT community it doesn't just affect that it affects everybody.
You know we are only as free and as safe as those who are being discriminated against right.
So I I think that this is the but not being at the beginning of the end but really -- in the end of the beginning.
At -- time for us to have to educate to advocates and hopefully work with more people on why I respect conclusion.
All of the LG BT community is so very important.
You know -- I -- I'm a sports fan and you work directly with athletes professional athletes.
And and -- them awareness on LG BT issues and you know we had a lot you know Latino professional boxer Orlando -- recently come out of the closet and we had Jason Collins and the first active NBA player to do so.
Do you see the consciousness.
In sports changing.
You know I do -- I think Comtex is really important -- we can see.
Out -- -- athletes out lesbian athletes it it shows people but the homophobic slurs that the the sexist slurs the derogatory and demeaning language it affects people in real and meaningful ways.
That bad homophobic language expands and resonates and hurts assault.
So I think that Jason Collins coming out Orlando -- coming out.
It gives our -- fantastic opportunity to show people that discrimination has no place in sports and that.
We are going to be the most successful when we are diverse and inclusive of everyone.
Do you think are we going to have a different conversation five years from now don't you think there's a lot of work to be done.
In the process when it comes soldier between -- I hope we're gonna have a different conversation I mean I hope that an athlete coming out isn't going to be such a big story.
You know I.
Our -- in this is to get to a place.
Where -- homosexuality is seen as something that is in no way shame for intrinsically undesirable.
You know where where my lesbian gay bisexual and transgender appears.
Give their full full contribution to whatever society or sports team of which there are part you know.
Even if you don't understand someone who who who is LG BT how do you police and -- and people or just let people get people aware that.
Violence and crime against people for any reason is not it's it's not good.
Yeah -- when.
When we speak to one another about other people we always have a choice -- we can either affirm and your night or degrade and divide and that.
That's with how we speak that's with how we act how we conduct ourselves and so I think at the end of the day when when we think.
About our own life and the difference that we can make.
We can always be more respectful we can always be a little bit kinder.
And that's a lot of what athlete ally -- all about is trying to educate athletes about the difference they can make and the positive influence they can have as role models and leaders of the the sports community.
Wolf thank you about something you for being an ambassador that's what we -- zero in my -- I had I -- man was -- a difference on behalf.

And that we've got a great a lot of great things coming out celebrity it and thought it was amazing the horse shoes that cover so we're having a great time money and any time.
