And is a few movies opening today that people are really excited about we are fast and furious we've got the hang over three you've got epic.
And -- the rotten tomatoes editor joins us now -- -- editor in chief of rotten tomatoes dot com thank you very much for joining.
Thanks for having -- I know they are used to talking with Jonathan Hunt and I can't do the accent right now but -- But I love movies I love movies and fast well talk about fast and furious 61.
Okay because I love the rock anyway.
What yes I know personally I will tell you.
Yeah I'm a big fan of this whole franchise.
I've liked even the bad ones that come from a car guy.
But you know as these movies have gone a lot and they've done better and better with the critics.
The last one was fresh it was about seven.
And this one is at 75%.
On our -- under -- certified fresh and you know they really figured out how to make these movies right.
I think a lot of that a lot of it goes to director Justin when it didn't work and -- -- for three or -- movies.
But everybody returns for this when you've got Vin Diesel you've got -- rock you've got Paul Walker Michelle Rodriguez her character comes back from the dead in this plan.
And that's the central story here is I've -- diesel and Paul Walker trying to get to the bottom of whether or not Michelle Rodriguez character is still alive.
So they go to Europe for the first time the crews in Europe and -- racing around.
And this really gets a lot of things right you know you've got races you've got -- you've got fight scenes good action and it doesn't take itself too seriously.
-- I think it's a fun movie and if you're looking for more of the same.
You know if you like these movies -- that you're gonna have a desktop.
Would you recommend seeing a fast and furious one through five before you seen best in your six or does it matter.
You know I personally would because I would enjoy that I don't know if that's not for everybody.
-- I don't think you know they do enough.
Good enough job kind of filling in the holes.
And letting you know what the back story is that and -- you kind of know that.
That Vin Diesel and Paul Walker from -- criminals -- it like to race hot cars around.
If you haven't watched any of these you'll be fine keeping -- yeah.
A woman beat -- maybe it's time to get the dvd set OK so I -- -- yeah this is the animated.
Movie as call epic right its animated right.
Yes yet this is an animated kind of a fairy tale about a -- Young girl that gets.
I've kind of shrunk down into the world fairies literally.
And -- kind of -- -- there -- banging kind of -- did not dissimilar you know gets involved in this big epic battle of good and evil that happens.
In the garden so to speak you know if it's not it's it's not a groundbreaking movie as far as the storyline it's kind of predictable but.
It's beautiful to watch it it's the kind of -- that you know the kids love and appearance won't mind sitting through.
On the tomato -- not a terrible movie you know if you if the kids are clamoring to see you won't mind sitting -- Hey -- fresh and sixty neighbors that's great now or three yeah this line and is rotten right.
You have this one's not so good you know a lot of people were happy with the second one.
People watching a lot of audiences rule it really disappointed and I think that's Ruiz got its work cut out for -- at the box office.
The critics certainly don't like -- very much and it's kind of abandoned the the regular and a hangover plot line which is you know they wake up and have to retrace their steps.
That doesn't happen here this time they're actually taking the character -- played by Zach Galifianakis to rehab and then they get when he laid by against her.
Played by John Goodman who wants the wolf -- crew to go and find mr.
-- played by Karen job.
And the movie kind of becomes this weird angry dark.
Action thriller almost.
Which is fine but it's not really very funny there's only two or three laps of it I think that that's where.
The critics are really coming down on it so it's only in the twenties on the tomato meter which is definitely -- so you're you're you're a fan of hangover series you wouldn't recommend seeing this is is not like 12 or even one.
I mean you know if you -- -- have a few drinks that had a time that might make you more forgiving but.
I I wouldn't really recommend seeing this you know if you're looking for kind of the the no brainer -- far better yeah passengers -- and this the first hole.
Our our segments here because you're gonna actually review but not good movie theater movie but.
But at the NH BO movie if behind the candelabra is a story about.
Yes yes this is the Carol long anticipated movie about Liberace that stars Michael Douglas.
In this in the main role and -- that -- as a guy named Scott Carson who was the man who in the -- sued Liberace for palimony.
A lot of people take as proof that that Liberace actually was -- although he never really admitted it.
It's directed by the great director Steven Soderberg who couldn't get this made within the studio system.
And so HBO decided to take a chance at and -- -- make this movie.
And the critics really love it you know we do cover TV movies from time to time on rotten tomatoes.
And this one's doing very well to critics and it's at a 100% so.
If urinate alms driver in your interest in seeing this movie or if you know someone who's got -- HBO and I talked him into -- you watch this this movies on and on Sunday night.
And it's absolutely worth watching -- one of the best things that Soderberg has -- in the last few years I strongly recommend this one.
