This was not supposed to happen if -- Associated Press reporting that many Americans who -- her own health insurance.
Could soon be getting letters in the -- canceling their current policies.
And it's all because of the new health care law taking effect later this year remember the president said this when selling the lay of the law for years ago.
If you like your health care plan.
You'll be able to keep your health care play.
-- here if you like your doctor.
You'll be able to keep your -- period.
-- are we 2013 was Stephen Moore senior writer for the Wall Street Journal iTunes or good morning to you and I know the morning I cancellation policies.
Set to go out this fall now who was likely to receive one of those Steve.
Yeah this is one of the big controversies of the bill.
Bill and what we're finding is that they're about fourteen million Americans who buy their insurance as individuals not through -- -- group employment employer plan.
And those people many of them are likely to get these notices saying that your plan is being canceled because it doesn't -- The minimum threshold.
Of the Obama -- -- and what that means especially my young people who are buying you know basically the bare bones health insurance policies just to cover you know catastrophic -- balance those people are likely to see their plans council that it gets back to that the that the clip you just showed those people actually will lose the insurance plan that they have and they cattle -- like it because those are cheaper plans.
A lot of these people organize it have their plans counsel bill they're gonna face higher health care bills right now in terms of insurance and a lot of people can't afford and -- a rude awakening I would say -- -- and I think those were your words you're describing it earlier today what do people do.
Well how that's I think they're gonna be -- there's two options -- is there gonna have to drop out of the insurance market which is exactly the opposite of what the obamacare.
Plan had a -- we're supposed to cover everyone the other option and obviously -- to -- a price your planet.
-- a -- when you're talking about young people or lower income families spell that extra thousand or 2000 dollars a month that's helping those families can't afford it so you're saying it's gonna be more expensive for them after that you -- -- because -- spent -- let me explain why that is -- One of the controversial features of obamacare is it has all of these what we call mandated benefits that if you buy a health insurance plan has the cover for things like birth control and and other things are done done mystery and other things that you may not.
Be able to afford it your health a policy that's gonna make it more expensive for people and -- and that's why I think a lot of people are gonna say you know what I cannot -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Please stay commissioners say that you'll then be able to go out and shop in the marketplace.
And then -- get better coverage.
Is that that's clearly true.
Look there are some regulations with respect to Obama -- that make a lot of sense -- -- You know one of the things that infuriates health care consumers as their insurance you know if you get sick your insurance company drops you from coverage.
That those types of our regulations that the insurance companies can't do that I think make a lot of sense.
But but require people to buy what we call these Cadillac coverage plan sounds.
Is is -- Really hardship for families that can't afford it and that's why it gets to the whole issue of can you keep the plan that you want as a -- someone who's you know let's say you're somebody who just graduated -- -- -- or you're 2230 years old.
You just wanna have coverage to cover you -- you get cancer or you break -- -- some kind of -- -- -- -- -- as catastrophic -- you can't buy that kind of insurance policy.
Under this new law that won't.
Watch this number the next year Fox News poll.
Which would be better on obamacare.
Leave this system in place to go back to 2009 -- look it up February 2011.
It was 48% it's jumped eight points to 56%.
And I you're gonna see Steve welcome in the -- starts to take effect -- not that number goes higher or lower.
I mean you know what do you don't take.
Yup there was a poll that just came out yesterday from Rasmussen which is very related to this had asked people you know would you rather have a smaller paycheck and better health care do you wanna.
A larger -- a paycheck and and that you know may be last health care coverage and and 60% of the respondents said we want the other pitch happens bill people are struggling to make ends meet right now they can't afford a lot of this -- extra coverage that obamacare is mandating so.
We gotta keep an -- that's because of people lose their coverage.
As I said that's exactly the opposite of what obamacare was expected us to -- -- result we're supposed indeed it was Stephen Moore thank you -- to talk on this.
Plenty more you talk about on this thank you sir I don't Washington mark.
