Fox News alert this morning up costing about 7:20 eastern time at this Susan Rice we'll take over as national security advisor.
To the president.
Obviously a big story given her connection to the -- -- case and the five Sunday talk shows that she went on to.
-- to perpetuate.
White House's take on how all of that went down into attach it to a video.
-- a spontaneous outburst protest rather than the attack the terrorist attack that the administration knew it was within 24 hours as they have later said.
I'm joined now by Kentucky senator Graham polished -- -- relations of homeland security committee is good morning senator good to have you here.
What was your reaction when you heard this news what do you thank.
-- I think the president's been struggling to regain the moral authority to lead the nation and this doesn't really encourage anyone.
To reappoint or to promote basically the person who is guilty of misleading us over the Ben -- tragedy.
I can't imagine one and that we would keep keeping ambassador rice in any significant position much less promoting -- to an important position.
How they gonna have the authority for you wouldn't believe what they're saying when he's promoting someone who directly and deliberately misled the public -- -- -- At that you know what what it -- seen this -- is that the president like Susan Rice he considered her for secretary of state.
This position does not need any -- confirmation process he believes in -- he likes -- And you know we also heard that -- -- the Justice Department this morning that attorney general Eric Holder says he'll continue to pursue leak investigations of journalists that when he sees fit.
So this may be fitting a scenario of the of the White House saying you know what we're holding up OK in the polls and where this is our story we're sticking with it whether you whether you like it or not opposition.
Well you know the thing is is that -- -- -- tragic tragedies really not gonna go away until we have some answers really why was there this elaborate cover up.
Why did we spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on an -- in Pakistan.
Apologizing for a movie that had nothing to do with this.
Why was there of the attack and Ben Ghazi why did we miss direct Republicans say no it was about a movie.
Would you know -- -- questions about whether or not there was an arms trade going on and then Ghazi.
And that somehow we were associated with facilitating arms to Syria even though it was illegal at the time so I still have a great deal questions and I.
Really question the president's judgment.
In promoting someone who is complicit in misleading the American public that.
You know here here's one of that realities about that and I've -- I've heard you ask those questions about the potential of an arms trade and and all of those I think are worth pursuing obviously in finding out the truth about.
But but the president is holding up okay.
In the poll numbers it appears you know -- those of these three scandals the American people say the one that really -- in the most is the IRS.
And that is 37%.
At 32% CI RS 27%.
Of America says they're concerned about the Ghazi.
So what's going on appeared to do people not know today not cared added up pay attention.
And -- the president able to ride that.
Everywhere I go they are as scandal -- is way above that I would say the vast majority of people that I run into say.
Whether they're Republican or Democrat they don't want the government being used to target their political opponents.
I think people are still hopping mad about the ambassador being killed and Ben Ghazi.
I think that the targeting of the reporters his most disappointing actually -- supporters of President Obama I've said previously -- -- really mean it.
There are certain aspects of the president's policy that I -- -- defense in the First Amendment being one.
I'm really disappointed that he's actually targeted reporters in his abusing the authority of office not -- a judge's warrant but actually through administrative CP subpoena.
To go after reporters records and really to act as if they were co conspirators.
When in reality leaks the problem is within his -- government and with him his appointments not really that being oppressed problem I think is a government -- problem.
You know -- -- just say did you say when you talk to people they are very fired up about the IRS also about -- -- I was talking to some folks last night hill.
Basically said you know we think that the IRS.
Scandal is a huge opportunity.
In this country too for tax reform.
To really sort of opened up this process and shine a lot of -- -- and say is this what we want in our government.
-- you know and also with regard to health care and the role that the IRS is gonna play.
In health care but -- -- concerns these folks that I was chatting -- that that nobody's gonna lead the way that nobody's got the courage to really lead the way on that issue.
Well I've been promoting for a while now it's going to be a big plank of what I do as I go forward is promoting a flat tax.
I promote -- 17% flat tax like Steve Forbes did.
Very few if any deductions same for individual same for corporate.
This would make us competitive worldwide.
Would make it simple enough.
And really what you have -- you'd have -- -- it's not an outright elimination of the IRS because it would be so simple.
That people would -- to be very simple to know whether they complied or not.
You've been one of individuals who has been outspoken on this issue is whether or not there's attraction and the momentum port Washington and I -- -- something that you personally.
Would like to see and battle for so we'll see as senator thank you very much good tactic -- him.
Thank you twenty.
