I want to back to Hannity so after serving nearly eight years in Washington representing the constituents of the sixth district of Minnesota congresswoman Michelle Bachmann.
She announced last week that she will not seek -- election in 2014 joining me now for her first interview since making your announcement.
Congresswoman Michelle back and Bob what about new program -- Now at some good bwic do you think you shot -- -- I gotta be honest it took me by surprise a lot of other people by surprise book.
What -- was the reasoning going into that.
Well I've been serving about the same amount of time as a president would serve which -- two terms that's eight years.
Can I do think that this is a body that needs to have continual turnover but on the other hand he really is up to the individual how long they want to serve I feel like I've done a lot in the eight years that I've been there for.
It was a very strong voice taking -- my own party -- push back on the bailout I was the champion of get repealing obamacare.
And also dealing with this issue of the IRS I've been involved in that as a former -- S attorney.
On issue after issue dealing with it with the rise of Islamic Jihad I've been there.
But I think that there's just that time when you would you served and then it's -- to move on.
I'm not retiring I'm not going silent I'm not fit that -- quitting my public involvement in -- and they run for another public office that could happen.
But for right now I think -- going to find -- different -- In order to be able to weigh in on these matters sometimes you can be more effective on the outside -- on the inside I've done everything.
I possibly could on the inside and but I still intend to be in the fight.
But you don't in any definitive plan.
No definitive plan right now but I'm I'm wide open and looking and I have another year and a half to do a lot of work in congress I work hundred hour week -- I won't stop that I'll do that for the next year and a half and then after that I will I will continue to be a very strong voice people won't see me go away.
He's just where -- be weighing in from and that's what I'm looking at right now.
-- I know that Nancy Pelosi targeting you would you I think they're number one target in the last election and it was a little closer probably than you would have liked.
Why do you think that you became such a lightning rod.
I think because I was fearless and exposing what not only Nancy -- he was doing but also -- Barack Obama was doing.
And I thought it was more important to get to -- very knob and the promises.
That they were trying to bring forth and establish and that's why I was ringing the bell on obamacare and now we're ringing the bell on this professional amnesty that -- -- proposing.
Candidates and I think that's what it was -- actually exposing what they were doing.
And then motivating and inspiring Americans and American people to respond.
I was a chair of the Tea Party caucus and continue to be here in congress and I think nothing was more feared by the radical -- on the rise of normal Americans asserting their constitutional rights its extremely powerful.
And that allowed American voice is -- that they want silence they certainly don't want to see conservative women.
Be able to articulate our view is to the American people.
And I think that's what they want to do that wanna silence African Americans are conservative with -- who are conservative conservative women.
They certainly want it silence our voice that's I think that's a big part of it would.
Do you make digital is -- you head into your final year and a half and in Washington and all of these scandals.
With a new news today that are just engulfing all DC what do you what do you.
-- about all the well elections matter that's the first thing that I thought this morning how crucial it is that we pay attention to these elections it's not just.
Flip saying about who was -- and it's not a game like we're keeping score like there's a particular team.
There were -- part of this is about America and cool we will be and what we are becoming.
And we are seeing serial lawlessness out of the Obama administration.
And that's I think again as a former IRS attorney and also chair the Tea Party -- -- To watch the IRS abuse in the way that it is the political machinery I've got a government.
Directed as an attack.
Machine against Americans.
Based upon their political beliefs that's anathema to who we are -- -- it's a clear violation.
Not only of our god given -- constitutional rights.
But it's also just -- basic foundational.
Denial of human liberty and this is this is and who -- -- it's not our signature hit so again.
I'm not going away I'm not leaving Washington I'm not leaving the national scene is just.
Bringing up positive solution from a different hurts our last question would you what do you think about 2016 -- run for president again.
I'm -- I'm not taking anything off the table but I'm certainly that's not my number one item that I'm looking at right now hi there I'm I'm in the game for the long haul.
-- -- -- It you -- with a -- look forward avenue on -- days weeks months and years -- thanks for being with us.
