I spoke with him a few days ago.
-- you got to five kids in ten years.
Five kids there might be more haven't talked to my wife and an hour after the third kid people stop congratulated.
But they just treat you like -- round match.
That's the hardest thing about being a dad for you.
There's so many things about being a dad that I wasn't prepared for yet dads -- the vice president of the executive branch of the family which surprised me you know the mom as the president the -- Bill Clinton feeling their pain.
And were out more than -- throwing them to turn off the lights my life has instituted this open door policy where if one of our kids says that nightmare of -- welcome to come and our room and yet our bet.
My dad I thought he was the dictator I thought he was the pharaoh -- -- had -- out there are doing yard work I thought that you know we were slaves.
But he was really second in command not -- Yeah I thought it was the commander of the -- as -- -- -- but he was the king of the castle.
But things have changed now that's for sure.
Put things have definitely changed my dad.
Essentially just brought home the bacon and by that I mean he didn't even shop for the -- bring it home or even carpet he -- -- -- which is understandable.
It's not that my father and his generation didn't.
Do any thing it's that they didn't feel guilty.
Not only gym -- my bring in the bacon home.
I'm bring in the flank -- home the fillet mignon.
And I can only a -- to -- gets in the next that that's that sounds amazing but you know you're also writing how many books do you have out right now brilliant Chinese and books out -- I'm like -- a good hard look sunlight -- your kids and you know my book you know that it's bad it's the title came from -- now seven year old -- Jack when he was five the first sentence he -- with status -- And it showed it to me and then I put him up for adoption -- -- as well.
You should put it -- I wrote a column last week about my son's Little League team and we lost because they were hot.
You know it would happen if -- it you know they couldn't what.
It's -- crime you know where's the air conditioning on the field so it's a softer generation and their expectations of dad.
Are not the same.
That they war why do you think that so many parents these days put their kids on a pedestal and they're almost adoring of the child.
We're again and can.
Post World War II 50s60s.
-- You know those children were there to do certain tasks and shut up mark but now they're like got a little idols.
And I don't know really what how.
Happen there I think that.
Every generation we try and figure it out we we sit there and we go all right the baby should sleep on the stomach all right another baby -- -- on -- back.
And we're trying to figure it out -- I mean that's why I have five kids like all I have to do is go one for five bill.
You know I mean I and I've got a lot of pancakes to rose babies are a lot of work I try and pitch in I do diapers and and I don't change -- but I go you gotta do this -- Now final question you live in New York City when you know -- have not been in Vegas we share.
On the jets with five kids in a two bedroom how you do here.
There's real evidence -- bedroom apartment.
-- -- For a low.
It's valid word we're setting a goal it's just ended up that were still on a two bedroom and my wife whenever she has her annual baby.
That kind of steers the relocation off a little fat I want tonight though to make a pitch for everyone to buy your book -- -- -- So that you can afford to live out in the suburbs where I am yeah maybe I could move it with you bill that I -- I don't think that's gonna happen but.
We can discuss it you know would be a short conversation.
