On the back to special report its June 18 2013 which means.
It's time to look ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
And -- -- the big announcement this one came from democratic senator Claire McCaskill she wants Hillary Clinton's Iraq here's what she said it's important we start early.
Building a grassroots army from the ground up effectively using the tools -- the Internet all things that President Obama did so successfully.
-- that if Hillary does decide to run will be ready to help her win.
All right it is officially on sentiment and Charles the Hillary Clinton there's a lot swirling around her now but will it all the ancient history by 2016.
No I think if she wants her nomination it'll be -- terror.
Obviously the party -- in believing that she's inevitable.
You know she was inevitable -- 2008 as well -- can exactly.
-- -- he has a reputation of somebody who's had a sterling career I thought it was a -- who she was rather good.
But he was speaking about her was superb secretary of state remembers -- -- Ted -- -- that -- had with a -- on television.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- I'm not asking for Henry Kissinger on the investment from George Schultz.
James Baker you know a great -- you -- just give -- one thing.
So I'm not sure I understand any of this but.
She runs I think as you conservative -- welcome that I think she's eminently feasible.
Will do you -- -- Ben -- is over for her though I mean there's a lot of people pushing including us.
And many others out there do you think that it will be something that's it's done it's resolved.
I mean I just think -- -- always a question about it it'll definitely be something that comes out I just don't think it's going to be by her democratic primary.
Challengers and I don't think there even any of those so it would be -- general election just different -- He actually elected -- very interest in this -- the GOP side seat.
What's what's of interest at this point and the democratic side because of Hillary Clinton.
And things like Ben Ghazi in Syria and Iraq and the Russian -- things that haven't worked out.
Look I think.
What we -- what -- -- not seeing but it's taking place every day now is people preparing to run or at least keeping that their options open if they haven't yet made a decision that there.
Affirmative decision that they're going to run you've got I think a number of candidates on the Republican side who are doing the kinds of things that one must do in order to run.
Trying to set up some sort of fund -- infrastructure making visits.
Maybe offerings giving a speech that offers.
Some -- that would generate some buzz about it I don't want to run in Iowa and South Carolina and you know.
So all of this is having her most of this is happening behind the scenes you haven't yet seen many people take big steps forward.
You know we -- -- kind of announces that -- I think -- unlike Rand Paul I think Rand Paul's probably been the most aggressive on the Republican side and in that respect.
And the filibuster.
-- for the first down on the floor where he this stay with randomly for a lot of people that capture their attention these little sit around watching -- -- at 1 o'clock in the morning it was a big moments ahead of yourself and fifteen -- did that night.
Tom I want to talk to about Bobby Jindal the governor of Louisiana -- his name has come up many times came up being in the last round as well.
Something he wrote an op Ed basically telling the GOP to get it together here's part of what he said.
How about we take all this energy being spent on autopsy is in focus it on painting a picture for the American public particularly for young people.
Of what a free and prosperous American future will look like with Smart conservative policies.
No more self analysis we've had our catharsis the season for navel gazing has passed Charles.
He's entirely right I think.
We obviously lost the election if you're a conservative.
But in the morning news over in the -- is done.
And if Europe you know if you're a conservative you should be optimistic.
The main argument or come here because a liberal -- conservative is on the scope the size and the reach of a government big government.
As we believe doesn't work in the end if you think it's true then you're seeing it before your very eyes.
Not just in Europe where it's obviously not working.
But here Obama care.
Is it going to be a train wreck -- we see what's happening with the IRS.
Within the -- all of these huge institutions.
Which are obviously.
Failing the American people.
Being abusive in some cases good corrupt.
This is a time for ideological offensive on the part of conservatives.
It's a vindication of the idea of smaller government -- stop the name of the casing and make the case if from if conservatives do they will win.
Maybe well I mean I think it's you know Charles making -- case for why they should win but the question of how is really immaterial I think you see already split.
-- and the prospective candidates first winning sixteen.
You can see Jeb Bush and Chris Christie running a more centrist.
-- former Republican -- they're anticipating a very conservative primary contest.
We -- have a left wing of the party making the argument and they are more compelling general election candidate.
And will be able to form about our national coalition.
That Rand Paul or Ted Cruz or Rick Perry or the returning the former senator Rick Santorum and people like that.
There is jury still out on Marco Rubio what his standing is now he's under so much fire from conservatives and immigration reform.
The Rand Paul is an island -- speak -- building a national brand it's not gonna win in the White House but wouldn't keep -- a national figure long beyond 2016.
Can I think it's interesting to watch but I don't think he's the nominee.
C ten seconds left rubio on immigration reform does that help or hurt him in the long run.
As a primary candidate probably hurts him as a general election candidate if you were when the election helps him and helps Republicans for me.
