We're back here in the foxnews.com.
Newsroom I'm Laura -- thanks so much for being here with us today you -- watching continuing coverage of the George Zimmerman trial.
-- down Florida.
We have big developments here today jury.
Has just been selected all women for the six main jurors there are four alternates two of those are women to our men.
Of the judge has just sworn in the jury.
And told them they're going to get their sequestration.
Orders and instructions shortly.
And now we're going to transition to what's -- the Frye hearing.
-- taking fifteen minute recess and then they'll come back and they'll be talking about that audio recording off of the 911 call were screams were heard.
The united question and whether or not that is going to be allowed in as evidence the judge also telling jurors that opening statements.
Will begin Monday at nine -- -- of this.
Official start of that portion of the trial gets underway next week so it's been a long time feels like a long time coming.
This last year waiting for this to all come together and here we are so here we are -- in the newsroom breaking it down for you.
-- -- it's really just go over what we can do right now with the jurors that have been selected and figure out what it means.
We've got -- as holder here criminal defense attorney Fox News contributor thinking again for being here with us and we're talk about these jurors being all women.
-- what they do for a living -- -- -- being you were saying that age really.
Is more can be more of a factor at times.
Then the gender or the race.
Because of the life experience that they bring into the courtroom -- Right absolutely and another thing.
That goes along with fat is fat I know that out of the six that were selected three of them have -- three of them are mothers.
The other three I don't know from my notes right now.
But that's also an important element because.
Does the parent look at at the situation say.
I can imagine losing a child and my child shouldn't of died this way or does the person also look at George Zimmerman and say I can't imagine.
My child be charged for murder I -- that happen like this and as you know a new mother yes your feelings do change once you become apparent so.
That also I think it's a very very important part of this case so what do you let's look you're a prosecutor do you want mom's.
If you're criminal defense attorney do you want mom's.
It it can help either side it it really -- those -- It depends on the person's relationship with their kids as well.
That's what I'm kind of surprised that some of the questions didn't go into those those kinds of issues about their children and violence and abuse video -- -- be right right and nab one of what do you want to Alter it's actually mention that his son -- a pretty.
That is part of pop culture.
And an who's one of the most well known rappers who happens to be -- his his Bullock is a pretty at all times right so it's not so black thing if you Wear that.
Right but those are those -- part governor -- and and moving forward to this the -- I hearing which is about to get under way and again -- in this break right now on the court when they're going to be coming back in transition now that the jury is set.
Looking ahead to the Frye hearing.
Whether or not this is going to be allowed this audiotape is going to be allowed the 91 call where there's -- scream heard and that potential help me.
Pollan who is it -- -- in our manners that trip on Martin we have the -- -- actually let's take a listen that well but before we yeah.
Talk about for -- Think it really articles I'll come up and they bullpen not sure -- -- and screaming outside.
And it and -- -- now.
The -- male I don't know why.
I don't know alive when they're yelling help I don't know.
So as you listen you can you can all we can all hear -- in the background and who it is is going to be up to the experts I suppose of -- each side says.
If their -- saying help me.
What do you things could happen -- -- you've been following this case do you think that the judges and -- listen.
Well it's not just the Frye hearing isn't just about -- evidence and but it's allowing the acts spurt to -- a cry about it.
So it's not to say usually -- in cases -- motions this across certain evidence.
And and that's not what it is it's is can we use these acts first to say it with a with a degree of certainty based on their back -- an education whether or not what they're saying it's it's credible.
Based on them being experts and do we know how many experts in each side house to the each have one expert I believe they each have one acts -- And -- sure about that because of kind of been waiting for the hearing to see what exactly is going on but it's it's not just an opinion.
One of the experts has some software.
But he can't really explain the software and it's not really sure how -- out of rhythm works.
But he's an expert right so you have to understand your software.
Also be an expert at I don't -- and and gotten to answer your question.
The problem is there's not a lot of evidence in this case so does the judge allowed in to -- the jury the opportunity to decide.
Or does the judge keep it out because it's.
It's really difficult up bright and united.
And reminds me of when we're watching a movie.
And -- cop in in the room and the lights are dim and they're listening to -- he's like.
Take down the volume on that pump up this volume here let me hear -- better I mean those -- the things that.
That they attorneys themselves we're concerned about like -- aside do you watch you know this is this is not always real life what you see in the movies and terms of to even technology.
But being you know is it going to be better.
With these experts and and -- type of thing that you just talked about.
It'll be very interesting to see -- and who will help how will help.
And that is something that will be decided hopefully today they have to decide to.
It right yet while the judge can -- Wait to make a ruling.
But the hearing is definitely going to be today and -- I believe -- earlier this week or last week's top model together for me but.
During this time.
The judge was very clear that she won at this hearing to go forward and die and and you know one of experts wasn't available -- -- added that they -- wishy washy about it.
But she may wait to make a decision over the weekend and make the decision later on -- just have to make it today.
