All right Brian thanks so much Democrats promised Health Care Reform.
Save money the president himself said that it would save money but it's already costing many Americans more.
Aetna customers for example.
Now getting a letter in the mail that says this in part the Affordable Care Act is changing health insurance.
Do these and other changes many people will pay more for their health insurance coverage of 2014.
And they do today.
When customers got that letter Christian Chad -- joins me now with her thoughts good morning to -- and good morning Gretchen -- I'm doing great thanks so much I hope -- I know that you thought that it was a little bit ironic.
That it was called the Affordable Care Act in yet in the same sentence it said now in fact you're gonna be paying more right.
Yeah excited to be ironic but I also noticed the fact that.
Edmonton themselves couldn't even quality Affordable Care Act and that -- second sentence for at least stated it was also increasing health care coverage.
You know at at least that's being very honest and forthcoming with the people that they provide coverage to you so that I appreciate but it.
Just in itself saying that the Affordable Care Act is going to increase the costs of health care coverage.
Does a baffles me and him.
So break it down for us because I know that you joined at maybe three years ago or -- and break down -- the premiums.
Have increased in how that affects you as far as just the amount paid -- you're actually taking home and what you're paying in rent.
I get to him when I started that in three years ago I was paying approximately 450 or so dollars a month for my -- and that -- still win.
I've been very pleased with -- and their coverage their customer service they provide a great.
And now at this point I received a letter earlier this summer that basically -- -- that starting August 1.
My health care coverage premium for it but they haven't been in for three -- with an increased to 668.
Dollars -- month.
And that's just for myself I mean no -- members know children -- -- just myself.
I -- at this point it's basically forcing me to -- between.
A -- and that I'd been happy with for years.
But has become less affordable or forcing me to go to one of the lower premium high deductible plans that if I were to ever get sick or injured.
Really be something that would have hurt me financially from just because the deductibles are so high -- co -- are so high with that.
Lower premium -- it would really limit my access.
To go into the doctor just because of the financial obligation every office that that would.
Wouldn't -- -- and I know so many people out there nodding their heads as I am saying oh my gosh I know exactly when gas talking about because we've all sort of faced these -- -- over the last couple of years.
Increasing deductibles you don't pay as much an opinion it's better now is -- correct that you're that you're working two jobs just to try and stay afloat and pay all these things I do I.
I work a full time job you know regular business hours and then I've also recently started sort of a fight business.
And what that that this is basically allowing me to do is have the flexibility to work hours other than business hours.
And it also allows -- to have the extra income because -- year where.
My income is gonna stay the fame and my taxes went up.
I mean an extra 83 dollars a month for health coverage is it's hard you know refer -- single working woman it's something that's very difficult to come up -- Yup -- single women married women family people I mean a lot of people getting hit here let me ask you this before -- let you guys universal for every American right now did you follow the health care situation over the last couple of years and it was being passed by congress and President Obama introduced it in -- Were you following it and and if so did did you actually think while my health care expenses might be going down owner at least in the same.
I have followed it I think I don't claim to be an expert on it or anything.
But I can see what it's done in the past few years.
With my own personal health care coverage.
More regulation higher premiums higher co pays and deductibles.
I honestly didn't think it was ever going to get cheaper.
When you take -- way you know underwriting which is basically what it diet.
It's foreseeing any industry to provide a good and service but it's also forcing everybody to purchase -- servant.
And that right there just sort of -- direct -- to -- that.
It wasn't going to all work out the way it seemed it was going to well Christian Chad -- -- at the customer.
Thanks much for your explanation and some even if you are probably -- -- -- this morning have a good week.
They think -- have.
