Well happening now -- the Democrats could soon find themselves in a tough spot over Obama care.
House Republicans saying it's only fair that ordinary Americans get a delay and having to get health insurance.
After the White House says it is letting some businesses off the hook.
In providing health insurance for at least a year.
The GOP is considering taking up a bill that would do just that.
-- Goldberg is editor at large for the national review he is also a Fox News contributor.
So much of this is about perception Jonah and and many Democrats are saying.
All the president's health care law would be gliding along smoothly if there wasn't so much Republican opposition.
Is there a danger in what Republicans are proposing here.
I'll there's a danger in this.
Actual vote I think this is a good idea you know for branding wise.
For -- for the GOP to basically say hey look.
You know Democrats why are you cutting a big -- cutting a break for big business and not for the little guy I thought that was your whole thing it's it's very rare there voting party.
Gets to put in itself in a position.
Where the Democrats have to squirm about you know being a homicide a big business since I think it's a Smart political move.
They do have a problem if they if they seem like all the problems of Obama care.
Are simply because of GOP obstructionism the thing is I think we are very far from that being the reality.
This last decision about delaying the business mandate -- not had nothing to do -- GOP obstruction.
And this law has been on being popular.
Since it was first brought up and -- it is it is as unpopular as it has ever been.
And the idea that somehow the Republicans will get in trouble for being against the bill.
That are being against the law that the majority of American people are against strikes me as it is sort of hard to figure.
So figure that one out is so why if if Obama -- is this panacea that's going to cure all of our ills.
I guess literally and figuratively in -- in the health care system.
Why is he administration deciding to delay implementation of a huge chunk out.
Well I think it's if we're getting to the point where you -- to sort of paraphrase animal house the Democrats just pick up the slogan.
You know what we fouled up you trusted us because it is just such an unbelievable mess and we don't know all of the reasons why they're having to to delay or put off.
The business mandate you know that there's not the first time they've had to cancel or change something in the law.
But it puts them it does give the sense that they are in a really bad way that this was a hastily written -- that badly written law.
And and it's just not working out I don't you know you hear a lot.
That that delay on the business mandate was because of the 2014 elections and I I think that's probably true at some level.
I just don't know that it helps them that much -- to keep the issue alive it doesn't get rid of -- just delays it for years the Republicans get to say hey look.
So to have this overhang on the on the business community the Democrats are bailing out big business.
And it could turn out that all these people.
-- all these businesses start dumping everybody on the exchanges.
Which was why they creative thing in the first place so there could be a lot of downside for Democrats on the outside to.
Yeah those Americans who have jobs and that's not as big numbers we would like right now but those who have jobs and have employer sponsored health care.
Even the Congressional Budget Office says about seven million of those people and estimates.
Are gonna lose that employer health care by 20/20 two because of the expenses.
Of -- mating Obama care.
And one theory you know you hear is that maybe they're doing this so they can get people more more people into the system because they're afraid not enough people are going to sign up.
The problem this thing -- it you know it's sort of a pinata he can hit it from any angle and you'll get some reward.
Because they're just so many problems with -- and -- the problems are interconnected to each other one thing doesn't work it creates problems somewhere else.
It's sort of like when you have system wide failure and -- patient who's very sick.
You fix but if you don't fix the liver the kidneys go to -- is go to -- -- -- a mobile -- You sort of the same problem with this all of these things were sort of set up to counterbalance each other and if they don't all work -- of a bill.
Mile and a foot bone connected the ankle -- -- -- the fifth.
Jonah Goldberg from the national review online thank you.
