Two years ago tomorrow the five launched over 500 plus shows and we've only had a handful of guests Barbara Bush Sarah Palin Donald Trump a few others.
It's my pleasure now to welcome the king of talk radio personal friend of mine in a friend of free -- It's Rush Limbaugh rush welcome.
Before we get into the important news of the day respite lefties over political -- -- headline to make it seem like you had issue with Fox News headline says quote.
Rush Limbaugh tells -- -- not to watch Fox News now I know better but can you explain to people what you think Politico is up to.
Absolutely and by the way Eric I am the news of the day -- arm and a that's.
Happy it got down throw to be here I've I love your guys show -- I'm I've whenever I watch TV in the afternoon -- it.
You know I I had a caller.
Who was just almost just -- -- profane he was angry spitting.
-- finally started telling me why he was upset they started listing names of people.
And on out of pocket turned up the Fox Business Network and much of the names I didn't know who they word that which is why was having trouble.
And he it would just -- off the wall license or look just stop listening to those people stop watching those people I kept saying those people I never said.
Don't watch fox now.
I have said over the course in my career don't watch ABC don't watch NBC and has never made the -- This I never said don't watch fox but the medium it was only.
I guess they consider me and talk radio and you guys the last vestige of any opposition.
To the leftist agenda in the country Obama the Democrat party of -- that -- drug drive a wedge.
And they were clearly trying to and it's amazing how it -- -- that it it made web sites all over the country.
So eager are Avaya for you -- -- -- to adjust splitter away and become ineffective but -- gonna work.
Rush can I just -- out it's got felt that was me who called in.
I would ultimately.
I was drunk and that's if that's why you didn't identify yourself that way -- handled it entirely differently I would have told you to stop -- -- they rest before that.
News data has an important question but is very important question but as you know -- the best way for rep that to make front page news it's an attack a Republican back and forth.
And so I'm not surprised that they did this to you and I think that -- we all thought for what it actually was.
I want -- ask you because you obviously very successful in the media were having our two year anniversary tomorrow.
You say you watch every day and I was curious because we've been asked what makes our shows -- so successful.
I wonder why you think it's successful.
-- -- It's there's nothing contrived about it.
And you all seem to enjoy what you're doing it and I it's it's got passion I think I'm -- passion is the -- to anything.
Not particularly talk.
If if if people are speaking about -- nationally and -- -- They have a a level of of intelligent about it that there -- sufficiently informed if it's going to be like a magnet to people.
And you -- single like each other and even during times where there might be.
-- disagreement it if it doesn't seem.
Filled with stress.
But and it's unpredictable.
You guys might identify what you're gonna talk about the nobody knows where it's gonna go and nobody knows who's gonna say what won him.
A so it's it's it's something you can't predict if it's Ivan it's got all the are -- elements but you guys make the -- because it's.
Personality driven and it's just real it just happens and it's it's relevant it's topical and -- -- are around are relatively intelligent.
And again rush rush we -- to get to this today and -- want says he's very important question also so Russian people are a little confused as sometimes it does seem like he might be shooting at folks on fox can you could.
Something up for me finally -- right here right now you know why -- -- -- tarantula.
-- Do you take that as an insult no I don't I got a little bit I mean Bob says I have two great legs not -- great legs.
I asked you now that you're not you know I know like the answer because it's it's somewhat sexist -- and -- -- OK I like -- here it.
-- come from a long ago would bureau where men could be men and stereotypical humor didn't offend anybody and so it.
You are Andrea tarantula is what the spider is a window but what do black widows due to man.
And if you are just you are so most viewers so dominant you are so -- you are so confident.
I wouldn't want to mess with you.
-- why you're gone -- no problems.
The hunt and that's about it so it's it's it's a compliment you are the news today but let's get to some of the news of the day by putting in their Bob -- -- -- -- months ago and Russian -- this Beckel I one day.
-- you remember -- I remember when you came to do our show with Tony Snow.
We've Akron co author record and you and -- and -- went out -- -- you said -- if they elect Bill Clinton president I'm gonna be the biggest talk show -- in history.
You remember that.
Yeah now and I you turned out to do what I mean what city.
That was was that the TV -- -- -- Washington yeah yeah what.
And that's where I met Jane Mayer -- -- PJ O'Rourke was comment yet another show that -- -- -- and you and I remember that day well.
It was a late Friday afternoon I flew down and and it was.
I don't know if you work you -- early in the if commitment -- group back -- -- -- was what are but it was feeding off eleven and that was.
Your efforts it together in that game and I liked it.
The the woman about about Clinton -- in the it is said that that Clinton.
Help me to -- actually made me you know I was already at 500 radio stations before Clinton was elected I'd been on the -- for years.
And when Clinton -- not evident in her 112.
To finish it up but but really my success had nothing to do all.
With Clinton for saying he didn't permit but if I didn't I didn't need Bill Clinton in order to have to prosper.
Okay all right good bye let's move on -- rushed there's a big dominating cable news -- -- Martin George Zimmerman trial it's all over the place.
-- rush talked to us a little bit about is this that George Zimmerman on trial or is it race in America on trial is -- specifically.
Taught us about the media's role in all of this.
I think the media and you all excluded of course I think the media is invested in -- guilty verdict.
And they're invested and -- guilty verdict it's racial.
And New York Times called this guy -- white Hispanic.
And CNN has picked up Michael Zimmerman a white -- what is a white Hispanic I mean that's a desire.
To categorize this is entirely racial when it probably had nothing to do with the race the actual event and when it happened.
But everybody wants to make -- that because there are there are just -- I think races I've gotten to know liberals over the course of my career here.
Something about race in the civil rights movement is is.
It's almost -- a rite of passage to BE.
A liberal in the media you have to have that.
Perspective that this country is inherently racist and it has not recovered from slavery and it's still miss treats everybody.
Of minority skin color.
You're invested -- this country is immoral and unjust on that basis and every opportunity to prove it -- gonna take it even a bit to make -- up.
And this was it's just like this like to do what Duke Lacrosse case there was no evidence whatsoever to support any.
I'm the contentions the media made or the faculty of duke.
This is the same thing I had a story today judicial watch.
Got hold of some documents from justice.
Via a freedom of information and there's a community relations service part of DOJ which by its name -- is supposed to go down and help facilitate community.
Peeks at coming together and so -- these people from the DOJ were down.
Rallies prior to this trial sponsoring people getting together.
A bust of protesters in to Sanford Florida from nearby universities the DOJ Eric Holder was invested in this being seen.
As a racism.
And unfairness and unjust this against this -- trade not trade on Martin's.
And it's if they can't let go of it in and that's why there's wall to wall coverage this trial I don't even think should be taking place I don't even think there's a case here.
Rush it's the tarantula do you think that this wouldn't be a national story if the president wouldn't.
Have weighed in and -- Eric Holder wouldn't have made such a big deal out of it and and actually spoke about this case.
That helped it but I think the media would have made this a cause celeb.
Oh whether Obama had said anything -- holder and not -- you know brought Al Sharpton down there and call -- reverend Alan.
And -- agreed with him on all this I think the media is capable.
Totally capable itself of making -- say a nationwide issue by covering it.
With the in the framework that they hope everybody sees it and Obama was just icing on the cake and then Eric Holder -- Are at Russia's move on to the other story that's making the rounds right now immigration candidate proposal.
-- -- it amnesty.
What -- where do you come down on this one rush.
I don't think everybody says the immigration system's broken and aren't the only thing that I can see the -- broken.
About the immigration system is that were not enforcing existing law I don't and all.
What couldn't be fixed if we just did that I don't think we need -- -- new -- laws.
What we're being told today is exactly what the country was told in 1986.
With Simpson -- -- -- if we legalize these three million we grant them amnesty will never have to do this again.
And there have been all kinds of promises about border security first that was taken back.
There's no effort to secure the border therefore -- no effort to stop.
The in -- I'll tell you what I really think and I really believe this I really believe the Democrat party that they're in both parties -- fault -- so don't.
Don't jump on me -- the Democrat party needs a permanent underclass negative permanent dependent class of people are low educated low wage low -- -- dependent on government.
They need that now has as Americans.
Climb the ladder of success and elevate themselves through the middle class become less dependent on government the Democrats -- replace them.
The Democrat party clearly -- -- eleven million votes here.
The Republican Party.
At two things going on they're scared to death they believe -- I have don't you guys find it funny the Democrats keep telling Republicans look foolish you guys help us -- that you're never gonna win the White House as though they care.
You think Obama the Democrats really want to share some of -- voter's witness I don't buy it.
-- Republicans and their parent -- the Republicans are scared to death believing a myth.
That unless they do this the Hispanics are never gonna support of the Hispanic turnout was seven point 8%.
-- -- twenties embers if -- had gotten 70% of the Hispanic vote when he probably still lost.
This is that this is a giant it's a myth everything -- -- I think the Republicans.
Have businesspeople want cheap labor -- and so forth but a guy call me an -- you're -- -- -- a guy called me the other day and made a great point -- rush remiss in this.
There's so many people in America not working and still eating.
And still driving and still watching TV and still calling on their phones they don't need a job in the American business community needs workers and that's why.
The Republican Party is for this businesses can't find qualified or anybody to work as Americans want anymore I -- that's how roiled this has gotten.
They rushed the idea that somehow that is being floated that.
If the Republicans embrace this bill Democrats will no longer.
Call them racists and I I firmly believe that.
At telling a Democrat not to cry racism is like telling littered -- not to play free bird that's not get a change in my right.
-- Well -- didn't they say if we elected Obama.
In the country would no longer -- racist because we would prove that we want because we've elected the first black president.
And we were gonna be unified and happy and it was going to be utopian America be in -- whistling -- my yacht and none of that has happened I think.
That that the Republicans get tricked by really skillful Democrat consultants.
And media people Republicans.
Let's don't let the with the wave Republicans are intimidated.
By the media when it comes to independence.
Republic -- told don't criticize Obama don't beat partisan that just makes the independents -- in -- gonna run right to the Democrats the minute usually partisan the independents want bipartisanship.
So the Republicans.
They got docile and they don't criticize Obama -- colonized it never works.
And the independents -- -- spoke at a Democratic Party is as mean spirited extreme as anybody I've ever seen.
Rush rush is bad wait what are you talking about some Republicans who don't read rumors that that they were there other structures that would help you with these Tea Party people out -- all this stuff bothered by the way the fourteen made elegant emerged yet.
Get to be a -- voters.
Under the senate bill for fourteen to twenty years.
So what do you expect to have eleven atop -- -- million a new voters I mean it is the Republicans that are cause of the problem here it -- Democrat.
Just the other day the president United States said you know what I don't like the individual employer mandate -- I'm just gonna cancel it.
Well I get -- Bob I will guarantee you if this bill passes as the gang of -- bill exists today.
And there is this whatever it is twelve to fourteen year waiting period to vote.
Within six hours of the bill's passage Chuck Schumer we'll find the nearest camera and talk about how unfair.
It is that we have granted these people up pathway out of the shadows.
But that they can't vote.
And the next day they'll be able to vote you what that's.
Whole reason for doing that that's the only reason anybody cares about this again visit 9/11 million voters to be bought -- not to do that either Democrat democratic demographic increase -- -- -- by the year 2030.
They're going to be so -- that dominant.
This is gonna affect the Republican Party.
I think the Republican Party can get anybody by being conservative if they start pandering we got a set of policies for this group -- a policy that group.
We're friendly -- -- we don't dislike you hear they're gonna for ever lose because that's the democrats' game and Republicans can't win Meehan Democrat -- The Republicans are are are abandoning what they need to do win we got the greatest opportunity Bob.
The -- the Republicans do to contrast themselves.
With what the Democrat party stands for and -- -- not using it they're trying to be Democrat party light.
They're trying to echo the Democrat party be perceived like a Democrat party be liked by the Democrat party be liked by Democrat voters it's a losing.
Game pay Russia and I don't -- rush you so to speak.
-- -- -- -- something you'd -- employer mandate in obamacare -- has questions for you during that level I wondered if do you think that because they did that.
And that -- on a slow news weekends they try to get up that.
People there doesn't Gallup poll until I got it said 33% of people -- think it's been repealed anyway.
What do you think that the -- if you're advising one of those consultants.
In for the house Republicans in the senate Republicans what would what do you think that should try to do now.
Well I don't I don't you see this as much I don't know but I'm -- my businesses and politics.
And I have opinions about it.
But I would.
You know laughter Meehan and throw me off the show I would advise the Republicans just say no just stop this business that's not -- do there's a new advice.
There's nothing well then they need to hold fast to it that they're at it.
All the two broken -- we're not in enforcing the law already on the books all we've you know Bob.
If these guys would simply secure the border you'd be amazed at the magic that would happen after that.
But nobody wants to do that nobody wants to shut down this inflow.
Of deal -- It can't rush yet there there's a group of conservative or senators that want to do that I'm thinking that Rand Paul wind cut takers still on some other ones as well.
That that that do wanna do that I wanna shut the border down first before any the other stuff goes through before them but they're -- -- amnesty -- you know giveaway goes happens in before they get Obama -- But -- is Dana what you say to the fact that deportations are up an end.
The number of people coming in a country.
Well see that's that's the more evidence I think for my point of view of these though it's -- -- washes and it from what we know that.
People leaving on their own is in washing out by the people coming in it's a net number now.
The economy's down the attraction to come here is not -- is not quite as great there's no crisis is the point -- -- there's no reason that if study done right now.
Under the rubric of week every time we do something.
That's in the middle of a crisis has to happen now and can't wait the Republican Party gets the shaft.
-- on Friday the administration also.
Announced that they would not be requiring people because the an individual mandate is still enforceable.
They wouldn't -- verifying whether or not they had health insurance they're just gonna trust what people say.
Do you think this is an opportunity for the Republicans on obamacare to push back on the individual mandate now.
-- I don't thing -- I haven't repeal the whole thing I would -- I had 37 times in the house but but.
But I mean that the case can be made to the American people I'm -- here's.
You what Obama is doing with this idea I laughed when I hear people you know it's it's all fallen -- of Obama -- no it's not.
He is getting everything he wants -- on what you just mentioned.
The honor system anybody can say I qualify for a subsidy what Obama wants two things.
It -- with this that happen on Friday you're talking about.
If you notice he's out campaigning.
For a bill -- -- -- all the way and he's getting Hollywood NFL players trying to get everybody to push its Y 2010 is one key.
The Democrats lost down the ballot they got shellacked it was deep it was what it was that was rotten they lost the house.
And it was because a Tea Party came to life because of Obama -- that try to change people's minds about a second thing it.
The more people they can entice to come -- And sign up via these exchanges the harder it's gonna be the taken away you get this -- you get the win of the tentacles of this entitlement.
Deep into the fabric of society -- it'll never be repealed it'll never be taken away.
A rush -- I've got to chided you gotta go now I -- -- about 15 question do you not believe that this thing is Snowden did they break the water quality product of back and and -- go to trial but is that's not an assault on the Fourth Amendment.
By the internal revenue sure everybody and I say.
Didn't they go too far -- got thirty seconds.
Didn't who go too far the dinner and a State Department going and everybody's phone records.
Bob is -- -- hearing that the UA they went too far pursuing Snowden now pursuing our.
Our phone record by getting Verizon to give us give them the list of phone calls we've that's been going on I don't know how long name and collecting the metadata -- -- It's that that's them -- I'm sorry my hearing prevented me from -- your time and let me come back on -- Okay fair all right all right we'll leave it there rush when I say thank you so much thanks so much for joining us -- really appreciate time.
