Two days after failing to convict the volunteer neighborhood watch man.
Prosecutor John Guy telling ABC news that he's still doubts Zimmerman subversion of the events.
And weighed in on reports -- Zimmerman would have with his gun returned to him.
They've got to be right circumstances the law allows an awful lot of people to carry guns.
That doesn't mean they -- show.
Nobody just gets a cut out sheets even trained police officers when -- on the ground with the suspects on top of them.
They can't get their hands up that quickly I think there was a struggle at some point.
Trade on became aware that got -- is backing up and towards our -- -- Jackson is the -- Stanley's co counsel.
And she joins us now Natalie welcome good to have you with us today thanks -- me.
Thanks Natalie when you tell us about it.
Yes I I've got to -- a little bit of -- delay here from -- which obviously you in the viewers at home now that my first question for you.
Is is in terms of the family's reaction today and what their next move might be we know that the Department of Justice.
Might be considering pursuing civil rights charges is the family.
Going to press for that or might they pursue them on their own.
Mom the family suddenly.
It's going to ask.
That course and do everything possible to convict the killer of their son however they agree with President Obama.
You know there -- people and the jury has spoken.
They're disappointed with this verdict they do not agree -- it started they do not think it's justice.
And how -- -- holding up in the face of all of this we know that obviously they were disappointed heartbroken.
At this outcome of this trial but in in terms of what their next move might be what can you tell us.
Well I'll tell you how they're doing is that the greatest both attorney -- yesterday.
And she tell him that after she went to church she had time to reflect and think about everything she said that.
At this verdict will not define her son's legacy she's gonna work harder with the foundation.
They're gonna work harder to make sure that this isn't that not happen to another child.
What I'm curious what you think about the attorney general Eric Holder and the fact that they they appear to be leaving the door open.
To continuing to pursue this case do you.
Do you take that seriously do you expect that the Department of Justice will move forward and could potentially bring.
Civil rights charges against George -- in this case.
Really in the -- beginning of this case that department of -- -- investigating they stepped aside to let the state attorney handle it.
They said that they wouldn't come back after whatever the verdict was and they would continue to do the investigation is it needed.
So we do expect them to do a complete investigation into -- and to the stars.
We UB pressing them on that you know will you be as sort of an active.
Partner in that pursuit and how seriously do you think they're taking it.
How you know I guess what I want and what I'm getting at is that in in some cases we've seen the department justice you know get.
Involved in and claim that they're gonna pursue something and seek justice and it.
Only to see that issue kind of filed by the wayside do you think that will happen here or do you think they're gonna pursue it.
I would not tell you this family -- only asked for equal justice in this case.
They haven't asked for any special favors they've asked for the consideration.
That any other citizen would get when they -- because their son had been killed.
So I we will pursue it and we will press them to do the proper investigation to see if they are able to bring the charge.
Yeah you know when you look back at that OJ Simpson case for example.
The Simpson family did pursue.
Wrongful death charges and in -- case.
They felt that they -- that they were exonerated because he was found guilty.
And there was a financial settlement made -- is that in any way a model for what we might see air.
Well definitely we're gonna reserve the right to make sure does take.
To pursue every avenue that is available.
To make sure that revived legacy is preserved in the way that his -- would want it to be we -- they applicants.
Hi Natalie Jackson thank you very much good to have -- today.
