Hey good morning from mar Vista California is wedged between two minutes in downtown Los Angeles not far from the beach suburb here in -- sandals were.
Doing our live reports for Fox News Channel today from here from -- restaurant -- mar Vista talking about the possible labeling.
Of alcoholic -- is not necessarily technical when it comes stuff but in some ways it is.
We might it's now later on the show was first off for a talk about a number of big things going on today in the news.
Including what's happening on Wall Street also have some great gadgets for you as we always do three -- -- things -- -- -- the -- of -- -- -- -- -- -- moment.
Are gonna surprise -- one in particular I've never seen anywhere before it's not that expensive and it's pretty cool and for those you travel.
I won't might recommend this you depending.
-- what you want in your room when you take that travel to get space in -- back.
-- meantime -- -- at 10 o'clock out here in the West Coast 1 o'clock out east if you have any questions for us.
You can find -- -- live on FaceBook of course right here on Fox News like dot com you can.
Put your comments and I'll be monitoring right here and be able to respond back answer any questions you have.
-- spar with you if you like but also were on Twitter as well -- are off first in New York -- a cousin -- -- managing director of security compass we brought her on because today talking points aren't so I brought him on pardon me.
Today fifty different Wall Street financial institutions.
Are doing a mock cyber attack everybody from a Bank of America -- Citigroup we appreciate.
A -- for joining us he would get his in New York -- thanks again for coming on here this morning thanks for having.
Or this afternoon -- it be in New York.
And you know which we keep we keep hearing -- cyber attacks in -- we know that certain people have been affected by -- really the great majority country at this point.
I have not been affected by cyber attacks any significant way but they are a significant threat I tell us how important this is this this this really just.
Thing is taking place in New York today is practice if you will of possible cyber attack against fifty feet because -- -- Decisions yeah it's extremely important the initiative itself is called.
Quantum quantum -- to it's actually the second of this type of exercise that's been organized by.
Committee that on the is involved with the financial institutions and -- -- industry group.
So they set up -- simulation.
Where we're simulating.
Cyber attack a coordinated cyber attack against the number of financial institutions.
So it's significant number of ways and I think -- the place where it's more significant is that.
We haven't seen.
Quite coordinated type of attack yet and this is preemptive exercise to see that.
How banks and there you know companies small and large how they coordinate.
On how they actually work together if they're all being attacked at the exact same time.
So we've seen a number of cyber attacks and they've targeted one bank at a time.
For example last year I think there on September.
-- around September of last year we saw.
That Saddam a number of banks are being targeted through a list so that was actually -- produced by activist group ran.
That they were coming through on the promises the that are hitting these banks one at a time and then this is more of an exercise to see how they.
Talked to one another how they share information.
And whether they can make key decisions in a timely manner.
So seller a question you know this this basically cyber fire drill was taking place in New York.
For those of us who -- living on the West Coast or an Ohio wherever they happen to be around the country.
-- why does this matter why so many home right now on the computer watching the show why should they care.
You should care because financial institutions actually part of our critical infrastructure of of our country's so.
I'm there they're big target and -- -- you can imagine if if and the bank has -- attacked one of one of the things you might notice of the consumer.
As you might notice they don't have access to the services use every day like your online banking for example -- you mobile banking.
More importantly nobody wants to get their credit card information stolen land and this is also one of those activities that can be targeted and that.
Goals specifically so there -- a number of number of different.
Outcomes I think that adversary might have won one -- I think were all pretty familiar with is on theft of data.
For their own game -- getting access to credit card information so if you were to.
-- credit card information and somebody could potentially.
Use that to make transactions across the world and we -- a couple of examples of this one recently where.
It was a coordinated attack.
Where -- hundreds of thousands of withdrawals were done around the world.
And done -- resulted in millions of dollars in damage so that you as bad as owner about credit card you you have some trouble they need to go through to.
Get a new card you might have some insurance involved then it's it's a new sense sentence of disruptions here every day every day life.
If asylum former escorts and a couple of shout outs of Rihanna -- -- jets Carolina girl and -- Burton burger all watching appreciate the of them tuning it.
I I think that the big question a lot of people homey you talk about this will be used to some of the -- is.
You know when you hear about these big banks being hit you think -- -- -- may happen to be today it may happen is some you know big business of the corporation but.
Hello all me Baghdad you know whatever in the bank we're checking account is a massive I guess if you credit card -- but I gonna go after me right.
-- there there's a there's a certain type of attack -- -- that targets consumers and you should necessarily think of -- -- someone is targeting U.
But what what -- -- -- might do is they might target the large range of users so it did the idea here is that if you try to target.
A 100000 -- there -- you might actually be able to get to five of them.
And so while they might not be specifically after you I think I think you're still a valid target and a valuable targets an -- -- because.
You know you're that in the value -- that amount to your bank account might not be significant to down but.
When you multiply that by -- hundred.
It is significant to that and so you -- you know I think the adversaries are seeing you just as an out there on point of entry into the banks.
Systems so for example of cannot change your passwords.
Or you know if you're not taking on -- right precautions you might be the point of entry for that man and from there.
They can then branch out and cause a lot more damage so I think everyone should be a -- -- ten and it's it's all of our responsibilities to work together both.
As consumers as well as.
-- individuals are actually running this corporation obviously they have much more responsibility that we should all do our part.
Myself 'cause very joining us in New York appreciate your time recipient put a lot to be following this.
Security fire drill is taking place with -- -- fifty biggest corporations some of the some of the fifty.
Largest corporations on Wall Street -- be updated as well you can find more security compass dot com.
They can find -- more information about what they do to help.
Protect you at home to companies as well good information appreciates you -- join us thanks again my pleasure thanks.
All right sticking in the -- -- -- -- -- joining us out at all before you may remember talking about everything social media in this case he is the associate publisher of courses.
Social media Max and you can find him that Eric.
Erica OPR dot com and -- you talk about our FaceBook -- hit tennis -- FaceBook etiquette X billion he's great to have on.
Before the trade on margin verdict on Saturday I think it might have been a perfect segment.
-- and his new going to be up that fast but I have to tell you watching FaceBook the last few days no matter where you stand and where I've taken a stance here.
You have to admit there are a lot of people on both sides who were probably -- breaking a full view of your etiquette rules right.
Indeed -- You know I talk a lot about politics on television and you know they say about you know the dinner table don't talk politics and I do it for a living.
-- social media is exactly like the real world.
People have access to a lot thousands of people -- thousands of friends on FaceBook.
I can and -- late thousands of friends if I want to and I'll stop listening.
And my case actually I think initially in the early years but that's exactly what I get I over posted.
Over post nobody cares that much about -- And FaceBook -- people don't realize.
That there's a lot different functions on FaceBook.
-- in my case I have a personal page that's for my personal friends who actually couldn't care less than him on TV talking about FaceBook.
I also have a professional page on the professional page like this segment it'll be on -- people are interested.
In what my perspective is it you know about FaceBook -- There's that there's different ways to use different.
Functionalities of FaceBook and you have to be done.
You should be very clear on them I mean you know people a tragedy when a tragedy strikes and you don't be quiet.
I mean unless you have something really heartfelt to say you personally and -- Nobody wants to hear your opinion about it mean what -- basically to do is create a lightning storm that you don't want.
Yeah alien and factor -- -- so we are sort of graphic up there a moment ago go back to that right now we can all read off some of the etiquette that is.
Basically suggested to people everything from one -- asking people to like your updates that's one's kind of pretty annoying.
Give I don't know what you want to know that that's not only annoys me everybody like there has has it's like there's reverence for the light button.
If somebody likes what you how to say eleven -- don't ask for people to say that.
The -- don't be patronizing we saw a lot of that over the weekend with the people talking about -- on Martin.
We about five more -- -- -- there's a fine line between real time marketing.
And brand jacking.
Keep it positive you know let's look at post something online and you talk about having a personal -- -- up and up the public pages I actually mocking my public page right now it's.
If you -- -- -- on FaceBook Fox News Adam Housley and I have to tell yet I post something positive I still get people hammered me saying.
You know say that did you work with fox is like what I thought bragging about having -- -- -- in the -- they have that's what comes with Fannie wanna be on television.
People will critique but here's the thing -- if you think about again in in real life who do you wanna be around the person who is optimistic.
And positive all the time of the person -- a pessimistic and negative all the time right I hang out optimistic positive people it's the same thing in such a media.
I'm with you know -- Monty is right now Erica and on our chat we have couple.
Two that are kind of -- every bringing Davis is not FaceBook -- our live chat one -- -- limbo says I was just -- Fox's attempt to prioritize this chat.
We have a live here -- gonna major IRS scandal of -- that is about royal baby come on you're the last hope for reasonable news reporting.
Right now that's the -- is about technology news and actually bringing in it's what's happening to.
Dana news so but then that's right and the thing that people need to realize is is that and it did.
Information that we all get it comes from a variety of sources it's not just.
The television set anymore it's not just the Internet it's not just your morning newspaper.
It's a combination of the mall and the news -- it all in the -- -- they all fit together.
They doing what we're question kind of person should.
-- -- -- says what about Twitter etiquette blog Twitter etiquette -- -- -- -- -- It over the weekend again it was something positive and I had.
People home and allow whites blacks so -- wind it's not as I got a couple people made some very.
-- racial comments coincidentally they weren't minorities.
And I -- back -- what do you do what do you -- I mean you're you're complaining about it he says that and then all of a sudden I -- barraged with verbal assaults and -- cursing and so right away -- their -- it was guns like a block them but.
You know I brought that up because someone asked about -- -- it's a devastating you have a very short shorter form there but still you to -- with -- the right the right.
-- well right you did -- and if you don't nobody will care what you -- I mean I had about 20000 give or take.
Followers on Twitter there there existed and what I'm -- As soon as today stopping insisted that -- stop following me I mean that's the thing about.
Everything in social media FaceBook Twitter Linkedin I mean you name it is it you can very -- -- see.
What people are insisted then and what they're not just by the numbers and the numbers are -- -- everybody.
It is is numbers game and in the want to damage to my wife who has a lot more followers than I do I say you know she could sometimes get.
It's abuses -- are certain things I -- you know what.
If you treat yourself and you beat yourself you know over most suffered just -- -- do you normally are.
You're gonna gain more than you're gonna lose and that always happens seems like no matter where you whether your FaceBook Twitter where they don't -- -- -- that -- you're just out of the general public yeah well I.
I I think generally speaking people like people that are there.
Honest have integrity.
Who were genuine -- trance parent and social media brings all of those things to -- I mean.
Those of us tour and you know it it your all on TVA does a bus or in newspapers.
Does us or public figures you're always that that there's always going to be critique you know that -- the way that I -- data it is.
If people aren't criticizing me you know I'm not getting anybody's attention I don't expect everybody loved everything that I say.
I don't expect everybody to agree with every opinion that I have and all of those things are they're all amplified by social media.
I mean and and in my three decade -- -- I've gone from mainstream press which I've done my whole career to also social media and now a lot of other people see things that.
Might not have seen it before I get that -- I take it as a compliment when people.
Vehemently disagree with the perspective that I haven't -- people are paying attention.
All right -- got a bomb in New York always good talk videos integrated site I was I could be -- today of course.
Absolutely could find him at -- real yeah ever bomb on Twitter of course if you want to test your.

It's -- kill our -- you get a different sneaky attack.
-- get a floor and and Allstate now for an Obama and try to find a Segway got that -- -- let's talk about what's going yes -- -- solid with some of the new technology special forces are using they're trying to trying it out hostility right now give us our viewers an inside.
Ray and hopefully they're having had a chance do I get into some that -- show and -- -- some great years down there as well but.
I'm really exciting exercise -- though largest exercise -- that the US does with one other nation military exercises about 20000 personnel involved.
Australian and Americans and it's land C chair of the whole -- -- -- -- We're looking at some cool but as big thank you -- -- army for hooking us up with some really awesome photos after the viewers to check out.
But I can't ospreys here we'll see some black Cox.
-- we got -- got some Blackhawks and Seahawks.
That's in there -- spray he -- Is a landing -- showing a landing approach on the beach we've got some great other -- -- you know there's a scarf and so that's pretty cool those are used to you land on the beach first with -- By navy and Marines.
Yet here's another lending -- And said it really does have some great but as you put a lot more on the dot com for people checked out -- her interest in getting a sneak peek inside the excise itself but.
Today Adam very cool with the second version of -- -- Is being debuted and I strand with the 501.
I'm so looking -- hearing feedback -- I've heard great things about the first version and it made its debut in Afghanistan.
-- -- -- -- -- -- After viewers -- is at kind of the army's version and make virus they're genuinely real life big guy -- -- you had just incredible.
-- to -- things on the fly and I improve what -- party got out there rest is called they're wrapping it equipping force apps formally.
And they've really taken a lead me if this whole project started with -- -- liner from a unit.
They really do listen to the boots on the ground and immediately get -- and then process it into the next version of technology that they put out there are so.
Huge fan of that outfit that reference to the bunch of other partners to create of.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Don't put questions we're going to be -- time -- the -- yes on the NYU viewers I think it viewers at home can get a lot more of course in your article on the and foxnews.com.
Why should they care what the white people home care what this massive exercise -- is cool new technology.
It's ethnic question thank you for stopping me from speaking out on top of it yet issued Kennedy -- -- -- love -- -- -- Yeah I got this stuff I had out yes so why she carries because gonna give unprecedented access video access to you our soldiers on the ground so.
Right now there's kind of a hierarchy and I'll stay in place but.
But by video feeds -- mean really critical information like drone information.
But I also like the smaller isn't -- armed or an -- for these sorts of operations.
-- there at the -- new iterations of a new generation of -- that would be sorted.
A great eagle and shadow and hunter and these sorts of that it needs to -- for example we.
But regrettably would put troops on the -- is -- hypothetical.
You put -- on the ground in Syria is clearly concerned about chemical weapons.
So these drones.
Would provide seeds with sensors.
That was kind of will be -- where their threat areas where they're reading a risk for the soldiers say can act as a huge advantage.
To know on the Friday.
What sort of has eastern catching up the red whether it's -- or whether it's your chemical.
Biological weapons of sorts of things so.
Really important -- occupancy for give them more information to make better and faster decisions in the field.
By Allison -- it's I was always great information good information who want to know more about what else is talking about and all the different.
Geek tackles -- -- if you -- -- your mortgage person.
The final live right now on Fox -- -- -- -- latest article was escorted them defense specialist Orson.
We have brought us -- -- -- talking about the latest and greatest and we just this stuff eyes in the sky expect -- soldiers see through drones.
Some of the cool technologies is happening down down under is our forces train.
Thanks again Allison for joining us to -- things happening at have a beer for me.
We will -- not.
Not on and not on the clock though when we're done.
All right we're mistake in new York community Jeremy -- someone knows a little bit about -- well I'm sure he's had talked about android and chrome is science technology editor his articles -- not -- up on foxnews.com it'll be up shortly.
-- you still talk -- of course all everything new about this Jeremy joins us here like Jeremy give us kind of the layman's.
Version of what's don't know what the android -- and all the qualities that do it.
-- -- There is as big conference coming out.
Charity event coming up next week where we're gonna see some new updates to android and chrome.
Very interesting stuff a lot of rumors about what's coming out at this point still just rumors.
Four point three the next iteration of the Smartphone software is probably going to be released.
That's very neat stuff.
And is likely going to be some tablets as well the other story that I really wanted to talk about -- if I -- if I can change topics briefly we have a story coming up shortly.
On Smart guns and that's really was hoping to talk with -- about -- -- some new and really impressive innovations in the Smart -- world.
And what exactly that means.
The the big news that we're talking about is a new.
Sniper rifle at a high precision sniper rifle that was just unveiled yesterday.
It's his company that takes the technology that.
Military jets used to more accurately track things -- when they shoot they're not just blindly shooting and his incredible.
Hai precision and high accuracy to tracking technology this company is built that into rifles.
-- sniper rifles that they claim are.
Consistently repeatedly accurate for anyone not even a trained sniper just anyone at up to 3000 meters that's almost a mile and three quarters.
Very very interesting stuff a big step forward in the Smart -- space.
Yeah and my apologies who has -- hold use in an email about a group Google Chrome when I ran into.
The whole lot of Smart gun things I received some I want you print this thing -- me.
Well you know apply apply here and an end in a bar obviously where we have not had a need adult beverages yet but.
I'm really running the show on on my two Smartphones so and my one laptop so I saw the -- like oh cool Google Chrome on -- actually like get Smart the Smart gun technology talking about it incredibly important to me kind of coming up -- Allison was talking about with military technology mean it.
These -- really important advancements and you know.
I guess this has there been any negative feedback this dog hurt me that it is pretty much just about the -- how cool this technology -- This is this really technology in its infancy in -- hitting it right and then the nail on the head there a lot of them big and innovations are being made specifically to improve.
The safety factor for one thing and to make these things a lot more deadly of course made easier and more accurate about killing people.
And -- people -- animals or whatever you have to be doing with your guns but but the issue is a lot of people are very concerned about these things.
What we're seeing here is the sniper rifle that's that this high precision thing and having that kind of technology in anyone's hands it's kind of a -- a weird situation.
A lot of people are saying.
That this might enable some strange a -- how -- put this.
The government could easily be -- into some of these things one of the big advancements in Smart gun technology is -- GPS sensor OK.
GPS is are everywhere build it into your gun it's very easy to say this isn't the gun owner.
They're for the -- turned right however who's got control over that all the sudden -- the government watching Mike -- that might be a big issue.
So that's something a lot of people are very concerned about the other big Smart gun technology of biometric sensor system so that the handle of the gun can read your.
Your -- your identity if -- and tell exactly who you are.
Again though is there a database how would something like that worked as the right next step in a lot of issues that still have to be resolved with some of these technologies.
Jeremy Kaplan in New York science technology editors article will be up soon on foxnews.com about Smart gun technology great -- -- and others and stuff here developing in California we're gonna -- perhaps talking about that in the coming weeks and also.
You will be talking about Google and chrome and I don't have that you will as well -- Yes next week will definitely bring him back all that Mason knows a little bit ahead of myself.
We were excited to like apple knew what the apple thing as -- I know they had a lead you on what's going to be new.
I -- -- and I appreciate you being on Jeremy -- Google glasses so we will win and we think that's the kind of cool.
Meantime for the -- really could -- of a couple of viewers a Lonnie in the Galilee and then -- and two good win and liberals are not us.
Obviously got -- Who are complaining that -- -- to talk about how technology taking our freedom as well guys you have an opportunity before because.
Over the course of the last six months we've probably done that story just about every single week.
And the first part of the show we have talked about some of the things that technology is doing as well and we will continue to follow that story and what they can do in fact last talked about how you can to get battery out of this phone.
And they can still access your phone and your camera -- -- no battery and -- Kind of a tidbit that we -- from last week show -- -- -- would come back a couple of -- dogs are gonna show you before we get to show lower for this week to think you can take on the road and one thing again.
This will explain what this does.
Stay with us.
Our -- -- attack take it you know our show the other we would have a chance series and new gadgets and some things that you might be able to use at home or potentially on the road.
And we have a couple of things and it's always surprise you -- -- the things I haven't seen some updates and things as well it's -- speaker here Millie by sound Cassel trying to plug in -- at a moment.
First of all the first I want to start off with his.
This is from a plan on.
It's their -- stick -- -- 600 visas against they basically you've seen these they've evolved over the last few years.
And at the beginning ones were OK -- -- they had to some things or they weren't so bad.
But this -- say the DP I resolution on this thing is 600.
It's 249 dollars it is full page stance has a USB card you can put -- it also connects directly to your computer with the mini USB in the back.
Inequality also to sound recording his lawsuit you sound sound notes on this.
But -- can literally spin it right back down the paper.
As you would.
Like any other scanner inequality on this thing is fantastic and it was a lot like he has some wheels can't -- we kind of lose a slight side -- -- and make it -- kind of blurry.
This thing holds a straight line that you can't slide side to side the way they have -- set up.
This is their latest and greatest from plan -- we shall we show these a long time ago.
And we have a sort of probably a couple of years but I have to say this new one is is pretty impressive.
And -- -- throughout the morning we find anything different will let you know.
I'd say -- we have forty as -- keep asking of the keys in this thing all the along its beats it saves a humidifier.
Deportable limited parts point 999 -- actually goes.
Right into the bottle believe it -- not to USB powered.
-- USB -- in the back.
Brings humidifier to your room when you're on the road also -- you bring an aromatherapy if you will very cool idea out there and my wife -- -- to try something like this because she's always complain about when you're on the road especially in certain cities that are.
Higher altitudes how there's really no humidity.
Humidity is he's 2999.
Saves the SEC EC HI I never announced the company's name right it is that you portable humidifier you just type in -- Google -- funny too.
The portal -- US humidifier the next thing we have -- the power to show us a few weeks ago let's look at in my computer.
We -- a few weeks ago the power to buys cica -- take up.
You plug this thing in using USB in the back.
And you keep it in your bag wife finally get a chance to use -- -- -- tried out there on the field and use my phone up.
I was out of power -- plugged into my Blackberry charge to write up still hasn't charge left also charged part of my iPhone.
Really liked -- too.
Very durable what's for those of us travel -- it's the baggage have to worry about getting crushed or ruin the power to just 2999.
-- -- -- -- the so far the best when I found by the field -- tried out the last thing for you this is the ability it's our sound cast melody are sort Melanie by sound cast.
One of the portable speakers is out there it's 449.
I will -- -- -- missing -- is fantastic obviously things get some audio here for yes.
And you can kind of it's obviously coming over how microphone in my shirt.
The the -- goal in this -- -- -- is.
It's let's go live to our show for Fox News Channel talking about liquor labeling.
-- -- -- like this whole place up just one little speaker so be advancement of a technology like this is it pretty -- -- -- -- are doing it.
This one here does Bluetooth or by B.
He would be many cable which does happen to use -- -- That my computer so this one again the senate passed a -- -- -- after the final 449 -- suggested retail on it.
Finished product yet flexibility to notorious for FaceBook is we'll have -- -- -- -- on Fox News dot com later on today we appreciate you joining us appreciate everybody tuned into my turn this off.
We finished the show up great connections great questions and putting people asked about whether or not we're doing them the information or stories about technology how they follow us on a life.
We will continue to follow those stories as well if you have any ideas again.
Conference on FaceBook Twitter -- right here.
On Fox News like dot com thanks for joining us.
