Generally speaking what we've seen.
Health care costs have slowed drastically.
Its in a lot of areas since we passed before walker.
We've got a lot more work to do.
Health care inflation is not skyrocket and the way it once.
That was President Obama you might have heard him yesterday during our time on the air touting what he says are some of the benefits of Obama care.
He also called out critics of the new law accusing them of playing politics.
Meantime there are more challenges on Capitol Hill.
In the house more than twenty Democrats joined Republicans voting earlier this week to delay any individual mandate which requires all Americans purchase insurance.
Or pay a penalty.
So let's talk about Joseph Trippi is the former campaign manager for Howard Dean and a Fox News contributor Monica Crowley is also a Fox News contributor.
Joseph where has the president -- and this is his signature achievement he says of his.
First term in office he hasn't talked much about Obama care until yesterday why not.
Well a lot of Democrats wonder wonder why not off and I I think the president comes out and talks about something makes the case.
-- -- a lot longer after he should he should have but I think the reason they made the case yesterday's because right now at this very moment.
Eight point five million Americans are starting to receive rebates.
On the average of -- hundred dollar check from insurance companies.
Because of provisions of that of Obama care.
And so it's -- I don't think it's a coincidence that just as people are receiving those rebate checks from their insurance companies.
The president's talking about some of the positive aspects and positive things that are happening with.
With his health care plan but -- -- -- critics say those rebates are gonna -- go away -- you know this may be the one and only time some of those people get them.
Why did that I I don't know if that's true or not but it's it's certainly would be a good reason in the talk about it right now and it can talk about.
I mean look there are lots of things going on.
The health care premiums in eleven states now are way below are for 2014.
Are way below what even the Obama administration -- projected states like California.
Oregon Louisiana New York.
Premiums are are much -- there there are quite a bit of things to talk positively about look in the apology to -- politics of the situation.
Republicans won it.
Want this to be.
It's always tough -- of its early stages of a new program.
It's sort of its lowest favorability point make it as as bad as possible for Democrats going into 2014.
The president wants to save his legacy and and also make it is good for Democrats.
-- mind Monica has been so quiet throughout there's -- and I'm sure she has so much to say but I would point out Monica that states like Indiana are saying they could see 78%.
Increases in individual insurance.
-- -- Yasser John you asked the question about why the president has been so quiet this thing was past three years ago when the president has been a wall -- talking about it.
And the primary reason is it was unpopular when it was passed.
And it is only gotten increasingly unpopular.
Over the last couple weeks Fox News I think he's got two or three weeks ago Fox News release the latest poll on Obama care.
Showing 58% of the American people want this thing repealed either in its entirety or in part 66%.
Of the American people are quote very worried.
About what this -- means for them.
So despite what Chuck Schumer said at the time of passage three years ago when he said that the more people learned about Obama -- them where they would like it the exact opposite has happened.
Also the president is coming out trying to sell this thing again three years later he shouldn't be in this position but he this.
But 'cause the thing is unworkable and it's not just Republicans Joseph wants to a child lay all this -- defeated Republicans.
It's his fellow Democrats including two.
That helped to write the bill.
Including Max Baucus the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee who called -- court.
And Jay Rockefeller who said it was so complex -- to be incomprehensible.
So he's got members of his own party and who are now saying.
Look we can't institute this thing as is which then also helps to explain why the administration delayed the employer -- so he's got quite a mess on his -- Very unpopular and he still trying to sell it -- Joseph 152.
But you know of the eve of the unions came out and said look this thing is going to be a mess we used to be for -- but not so much anymore he's gotten a lot of bad news this week.
Nah -- and it's not unlike what happened with Medicare part.
Democrats we hammered -- their interest groups that thought it was a sellout to the pharmaceutical companies.
It was horribly unpopular as -- -- -- it became more more popular now it's Democrats cannot won't even touch Medicare part.
-- this law.
But it's gonna get decided.
It it's going to be in the implementation -- -- implement -- I think it's going to be popular -- that's why Republicans are trying so hard right now if insurance rates in Indiana go up 78% and I'm not sure you're gonna get that popularity -- if you're talking about Joba will see.
Joseph Trippi Monica Crowley thank you both you -- thanks.
