Let's I'll ask one of the congressmen who has a duty to do something on behalf of all of us right now up -- this set congressman Ted yellow Republican.
A Florida joining us from the Russell rotunda.
-- congressman so you're viewing the likelihood is do you guys in the house are gonna get back.
A clean continuing resolution from the senate today.
Why not just.
Say yes we need to fund the government let's agree to that and will have a whole another piece of legislation on the affordable.
Health care act Obama can.
Jonathan and I think that's you know if you look at what we've done we vote the Republicans have tried.
To fund the government -- nobody wants the government to shut down we sent that over there twice to the senate the senate passed the act on it.
And they're they keep taking out things that the American people want.
You know on the things that we keep putting an error or what the American people are telling us and were willing to negotiate.
But it's like playing a football game in the other team just picks up the ball says no when I don't polite and so.
You know we'll have to see what comes back you know I've heard that that's gonna come back plane like that I'm.
Right so but again walk would be the problem then -- to the house saying all right.
-- and obamacare will fight another day we can introduce a piece of legislation tomorrow.
Which tries to defund.
The affordable health care act which had -- certain taxes which delays the individual mandate whatever you can do that as -- separate.
Piece of legislation.
Tomorrow why don't vote on the continuing resolution today.
Just as a continuing resolution.
Oil and again Jonathan we're gonna have to see how this plays out.
The reason those things are in there it's a postponement.
Of the Affordable Care Act I ran on.
Getting rid of that the people elected me on that we put that in there again because the voice of the people said we want this and there.
And then the medical device tax that's just the common sense taxes.
That would stimulate the economy.
And again we're looking to keep the government running nobody want to shut it down.
So -- gonna have to see what comes back from the senate and what we decided to.
The other thing is if you look at what we sent over their first in the senate senate -- they also -- the date from December 15 to November -- Fifty.
Shortening up that -- when we're gonna have to raise the debt ceiling and and I think that was disingenuous I thought it was our party our party politics.
And we're gonna we also extended in there to put the -- back to December 15 in addition.
We put in that bill to make sure if there is a government shutdown that nobody wants that the military will get their pay -- so.
If they take that out that's on them and I hope they don't do that I hope they think strong better about America our problems are bigger than him Republicans.
And they're bigger than -- Democrats we've got to come together and negotiate but if you have one side that says when I'm -- and another negotiate.
America loses and again we're here we -- here over the weekend.
We're here there at the senate steps yesterday asking mr.
-- -- the president to come negotiate with us we were there as Republicans and out.
You know that that the news really out -- call them -- they want -- you guys here.
Then senator Reid and the president seemed to be.
Confident congressman that if they if the government they shut down the majority of the blame it in the view of the American people is going to lie.
Win for Republicans that's what the polls are showing perhaps that's why then not -- so much of a hurry to attend.
Get a solution here.
And again Jonathan.
We're now looking to blame anybody you know and I ran on the we can we can all myth that our government needs some help and it's and again.
There's people that have let us -- the American people really don't care for -- the Republicans or Democrats because they're the ones that lose and -- we don't need to blame we needed just come together.
And work to make America stronger that the American people don't lose there there on third they're going to be the ones that lose in this not Republicans -- not Democrats the American people are.
We're here to help -- solve that problem.
And let's just hope that.
Calmer minds prevail on that we can come to -- negotiated and negotiated with both sides.
Resolution that'll keep our government funded.
It is the Tea Party wing of the Republican potty holding -- -- hostage here as some high candidates would have it.
I don't think so I mean.
I've got a lot of Tea Party support I get asked this a lot.
You know are you Tea Party support or -- a supporter of Tea Party.
And -- when -- ask you and -- American people if you believe in limited government fiscal responsibility free enterprise if you believe in those things that's what the Tea Party movement is all about.
There's no party leader -- there is no national headquarters it's a movement that people want better government fiscally responsible.
And so I think that holds everybody at that hostage to hopefully not hostage I just hope that holds them accountable to better government.
What will you do -- how will you vote personally today if you get this set clean that continuing resolution back.
On the house full.
Jonathan I'm I have to wait this just a clean one -- I'm gonna have to do some soul searching here again I don't want the government to shut down.
But there's got to be -- give and take.
To short our military.
If if if we can't cover that and the Affordable Care Act again we're looking for a postponement.
When you have the unions saying this is -- -- in and people like the major airlines say it's gonna cost him a hundred million dollars.
This is a mistake and it to me the whole bill was a legislative malpractice.
In the way that I got run through the infamous words of the then speaker.
We have to pass it to see what's and that we have to pass -- -- -- how it's gonna work.
If we did that on a contract like -- -- closing on a house and somebody said what are your closing cost going to be and I saw don't worry about it just sign it.
And we'll get that speculator I mean that what anybody else would go to jail.
And that's not right -- the American -- people deserve and they demand better and so.
Is your decision.
-- And the decision memorial colleagues made congressman.
On a 5050 basis of what is best politically.
What is best for the country is it 7030.
Or are you billion going to decide how to vote this afternoon on the basis of what is best.
For the country and all the -- I run I you know I don't look at the polls I don't look at outside groups how they score these things -- -- -- my convictions are what's constitutional what's best for this country.
Putting party politics aside -- -- -- you cannot run party politics our problems are too great and we've got to put that.
The benefit and the betterment of this country to make our country bigger stronger and more competitive.
And you're not gonna do that by you know you know -- is a 51% more favorably from -- Republicans that.
We need to put that aside what's best for this country and that's what we need to run on and I hope everybody else runs on those same things.
Finally congressman do you believe that we gonna have a deal before midnight do you believe that -- and be a deal that cooler minds as -- said cooler heads.
Will actually prevail all sorts of the American people just from pat themselves are Clinton Gingrich shut shut down all over again.
They this is not a time to do the party politics I'm here because I'm an eternal optimists and I think the majority of people if it.
If we weren't optimists we wouldn't be here so I think we'll have a deal I truly believe that my heart that we'll have something that we can present to the American people bring stability.
So that we can do of our debt ceiling coming up December.
All right well I truly hope -- your optimism is proven.
To be corrected a good predict over its infectious nothing gets into thought we could do without Iran that I congressman Ted yellow Republican of Florida -- great to -- so thank you for being.
