There are still a lot of questions about the president's new health care insurance exchanges.
When -- the -- be worked out how was the plan going over with the critical younger demographic.
Chief national correspondent Jim Angle looks -- why we are not getting those answers -- Reports around the country show that health care exchanges that were supposed to be up and running by October 1 turned out to be open but lamp base even as we get to the end of the first week.
State and federal officials say they're still working on fixes and the administration cannot say how many people have actually signed up for insurance.
Now we don't have that data and we M and we wouldn't you know we're not.
We're focused on.
Improving consumer experience.
Making sure that the American people have.
The information they need.
Meanwhile a new Fox News poll shows that obamacare remains unpopular with 54% of those ads supporting or -- all or some of the law.
While -- -- majority of people prefer the old system to obamacare 76%.
Say they're -- -- their current health coverage.
While only 17%.
Are unhappy and -- -- 52 to 36 margin people said the free obamacare system.
Would be far better for their family then the new law.
One complicating factor for the health care plan is that is specifies a wide range of benefits that must be included in every plan which drives up the cost.
Having a couple of cover all sorts of essential health benefits that a lot of people don't need like.
The drug addiction for example not everyone is a drug addict and wants to pay a higher premium in Georgia to care for drug addicts but they're going to have -- under obamacare.
That was also one of the complaints from the GO -- -- a family in Seattle which will be forced to pay for maternity care.
Even though the mother is 58 and all the kids are grown.
It's obviously a bit of a shell game in my opinion that that if if everybody has to pay into something then you can afford to cover people might actually need it.
By charging people.
That don't mean it.
The basic thrust of the laws to cover everything for everybody by including a list of -- called an essential health benefits.
Required in every plan but -- -- things also increases the cost.
You're forcing people into insurance through the health care law.
And you're making them pay premiums.
For products that they may not have been inclined to buy in the past.
And they may not be so excited about that is one of the concerns about the young and healthy who are more price sensitive because they don't need health care as badly -- older sicker people do.
But supporters have always believed the new law would meet its promise and expand coverage to those who need it.
They're always glitches in any new program but I think this is going to work very well.
And millions of people who don't have coverage today or worth having difficulty paying for coverage are going to get help.
Now the only wildcard as -- reported -- is what young people will do if they're driven off by higher prices and decide to stay on the sidelines.
The law is in trouble.
Brett would you what do we know about the young in their inclinations to buy insurance or not well we know widespread reports their rates will soar over what they could -- now on the open market.
Now under obamacare what you get to about 20000 dollars in income according.
To the Kaiser Family Foundation the cost of the insurance premium even after subsidies is about four times the fine for staying uninsured.
Once a person is 25 grand and then come the premiums almost eight times the fine and it about 32000 income the premium is ten times the fine.
And all that is without counting several thousand dollars in deductibles.
So -- we don't know what the young we'll do.
But we do know the numbers they're looking yet.
-- Jim the Associated Press is just moving -- alerts and the Obama administration.
Is saying late Friday that the application functions of health care dot gov.
Will be unavailable.
During off peak hours this weekend for repairs saying technology problems overwhelms the launch of the new health insurance markets.
Yeah in other words another word -- -- look at the plans but they can't sign up for -- -- that's a complaint a lot of people already have breath sucked.
I guess they're recognizing reality of sport.
Measure we'll have more with the panel on this in the bed Jim thank you -- -- what do you think do you think young people will buy into obamacare but you know on Twitter you can follow me at threat there.
