It's actually barking for fox 41 -- and now we're talking new -- specifically what rotten tomatoes tomato meter I have to say about those new movies in theaters this week.
Wine is an intense thriller filled with stars the others an.
That -- city editor in chief of rotten tomatoes dot com is here to sum it all up for us welcome mat.
Thank you thanks for -- -- let's talk bad it -- pop.
Yeah -- -- plus the latest film from the jackass -- -- fourth movie.
I the stars Johnny Knoxville primarily as his.
Character named Irving's this man.
86 year old retiree veteran.
We've seen that character show up on the TV show and in movies before but this one he's actually put in a story.
I Irving has to carry his.
Side arms -- his -- sign.
It's gonna drive there from Nebraska that North Carolina which doesn't -- -- do you know meanwhile he's -- the body of his dead wife tried.
Who passed away.
That's kind of the set up in -- movie that's configured not unlike South America on board that movie.
In that they carry these characters the whole time but there interacted with -- real people on video cameras.
I -- framing story takes about twenty minutes out of the movie that I think would be better served by other.
Sketches but the sketches are very funny this -- got a lot of laughs.
And the critics mostly like it it's I think 64%.
On the tomato meter at the moment.
Yet check out -- you've been a while watching -- -- -- -- right now that is that is this is a popular movie wit the critics.
Yeah absolutely they all agree that for all -- flaws and it does have some.
It delivers on the laughs and I think people are gonna really enjoy it.
And now -- other jackass movies do you remember -- those at the box office and the jackass 3-D that was most recent one.
Indeed -- tend to do well -- -- hands.
-- -- -- You know they have a very good audience that really likes to go see these and these are the kind of -- that will actually.
You -- get some good buzz outside of that core audience I think that these are gonna do pretty well in fact I think.
I think that bad grab caused me to -- it takes to have gravity this weekend.
Wow gravity -- been number one of the box office for three weeks and aroused so that is a big feat if it does.
We have to talk about the counselor an incredible -- -- Michael fast -- Javier Bardem Penelope Cruz.
Cameron Diaz Brad -- it got Ridley Scott behind the camera it's written by karma McCarthy.
-- Tell us about it and then what the critics are saying about it.
You have this is a movie that Michael Fassbinder tart starts as an unnamed lawyer they just call and counselor in this and he gets involved in the drug smuggling deal.
That things go bad and with absolutely disastrous consequences.
For him and -- -- his tragic -- as the characters he fundamentally doesn't understand why things are going so -- He's got a lot of arrogance and it really comes back and -- him this is a movie that.
Has all the right elements you've got a fantastic cast and they are putting a very good performances here.
But the movie doesn't really gel with the style of the director and the writer and so the critics really are kind of left cold here.
Only about 35% on the tomato -- which is really disappointing considering.
The pedigree of the people involved here.
Yeah I mean talk about the behind the cameras -- you're saying it hit -- performances don't necessarily match up with that style can you elaborate on that a little that.
This is a movie that's written it's the first original screenplay -- -- -- core Mac McCarthy who wrote the books that got convert that got adapted into.
No country for old -- and it was a it was -- no country for old men and the road.
He's a great -- this is his first original screenplay I think it's got a couple of problems and but where the movie really falls apart is that Ridley Scott's directing style.
Which is a lot of you know very kind of dramatic and very stylized.
Visual elements don't really serve.
-- -- McCarthy's writing style that just never really gels.
Unfortunately and the actors give it their all -- the whole thing just doesn't ever come together as a good -- Okay is that you don't really predict that one doing as well at the box office that sounds like either with the fans even though.
It'll have the box office appeal -- all these names attached do it.
I think it's got the box office appeal of these names but you know I think the core Mac McCarthy fans and Ridley Scott fans are going to be really disappointed here.
I think that's going to be -- really core audience I think words gonna get out it's gonna keep people from going.
I think this -- is obviously gonna have trouble crack and ten million dollars.
OK let's latency and as you predicted -- Graham Bob might be ended.
That's not it's not it's up against gravity and captain Phillips and it's the weekend before Halloween so we can also keep an -- on carry.
Which is in theaters and see how that does to.
That actually yeah Enron's -- a stock -- -- -- rotten tomatoes -- -- one more time you want more information on all of these movie is.
