Good morning I and -- -- walk and here are your buzz cuts from Fox News first off the top.
White House knew.
Couldn't do that obamacare claims were untrue why -- Are you serious yes I'm serious in fact that will address.
In fact what's going on is that NBC news reported yesterday Fox News subsequently confirmed there was a widely circulated memo and said the administration that said.
45 to 68%.
Of human beings who had individual coverage we're going to.
That was even as the president campaigned -- you keeping your health insurance that's 710 million human beings a lot of people.
Going to be an interest in white house press briefing today.
Spooks say Obama knew about spy game so the White House leaked yesterday we're in a -- battle.
The NSA that's the NSA there -- The NSA folks from the NSA told the Los Angeles Times that the White House leak of yesterday.
That the president and no one in the administration knew that they were eavesdropping.
On German Chancellor Angela Merkel and others that they say.
And that in fact that kind of spike has to be approved at the very highest levels the -- battle rages on.
Coburn calls out pork pork.
That's my favorite headline of today because it's got a double -- -- Tom Coburn he's a senator from Oklahoma.
He is catalog -- today waste inside he loves to catalog -- And he's catalog and today waste inside of the national parks.
My personal favorite -- it's.
Dollar study to investigate the cleaning.
Of the Jefferson expansion.
Monument you know it as the Saint Louis arch.
That resulted in no clean there was no cleaning that took part as a result of that study.
Up next Obama takes no chances on -- Virginia visit.
-- -- call your office just -- With a new poll from the Washington Post showing Democrat -- -- -- wide lead.
In the gubernatorial race in Virginia President Obama is going to arrive Bill Clinton out Barack Obama in that.
For the closing weekend of campaigning on the trail down there -- no risks for him probably not much for McAuliffe.
And there is.
My last but definitely not least entry here that's one way to get a phone upgrade.
That's Teddy Roosevelt now he stopped an assassin's bullet with a fifty page speech and his -- case that was stuffed into his breast pocket the guy came up issued a Roosevelt so famously long when did it stopped the bullet.
Well we've updated and we can do it much smaller fashion.
A it's convenience store clerk and where else but winter garden Florida.
His life was spared.
Because the robbers bullet -- his iPhone in his breast pocket rather than the breast that was beneath it.
So times have changed and technology has improved you know all of that and so much more if you're -- Fox's first go to Fox News politics dot com.
Give us your email address and we will be -- about 2300.
Words of the world.
But we're gonna do it all right now because it's power play.
It's true that there are existing.
Health care plans on the individual market that don't need those minimum standards and therefore.
Do not qualify for the Affordable Care Act there are some they can be grandfathered if people want to keep insurance is substandard.
And that was a unhappy.
Jay Carney speaking to an incredulous and and rate at yesterday's white house press briefing and this is power play -- Internet.
As we roll through another day back and forth on what.
Who knew -- about what about Obama care and other things.
So welcome back to studio three and a special show today I wanna tell you.
Can -- valley Republican candidate for governor here are not here over there in the commonwealth of Virginia.
Will be with us live on set today so you -- -- see that but I there is no doubt.
That you want to see no it's true don't snicker.
Don't snicker AB Stoddard she is a columnist and associate -- -- four and a tricks at the no IAB.
Hi Chris okay itself.
Here's the thing.
And I -- repeat the rant that I granted earlier but it shorter fashion so -- to -- the Internet some of my dungeon but basically we had we saw.
Earlier in this administration a claim.
Incompetence on a cup incompetence or.
Lack of knowledge or an income who Korea or whatever we didn't know about fast and furious and we didn't know about -- -- parents' phone line.
And we didn't know about over broad record seizure at the AP and we didn't know that the NSA was spying on people we didn't know we didn't know we didn't know we didn't know.
Now we get to the point that the administration very much wants to say that they're credible.
Sorry about the web site America we get to this point.
And at that very moment the White House.
Can't really say that they didn't know what NBC says they already know and Fox's subsequently confirmed that.
They knew that all these millions of people would be thrown off their insurance because of this law.
President Obama as in the past.
I'm not known and that was -- technique -- they used to -- I understand to protect him so that they can say.
He didn't he do it -- you know it's not it's not his fault.
But it after the cylinder and Ben Ghazi and all these different examples at some point.
You'd think the president would say I'm gonna need to know about some of these things that you're not inform me -- Yes I ain't got easily in an increasingly being accused of being accountable and Justin -- and irresponsible.
And it's and ultimately am -- the credibility of my credibility is on the line and my legacy is on the line in the second.
Determine your presidencies a significant one rear window closes to keep your credibility and about anything else.
He's been surrounded an inflamed by scandal all year long he's -- an entire year the first series was to be able to him try to get something going.
If you look at the confidence argument he made about government that's over -- the -- it -- it's the IRS or NSA or obamacare and the that the public no longer buys Obama's argument that government is confident.
And gin and -- things the way that they're saying the -- -- that they are saying that their -- exists as just you don't get.
You don't what is delivered is not what was described and so.
Now it is so consequential on obamacare it's one thing to say.
We just aren't you I don't do website you know I didn't know I don't know about -- -- doing right.
They think that it would work but I think we're just playing golf he -- it right now also apparently some people are self -- grandfathered in with stipulations.
And then later in the regulatory process make it so impossible for those plants survive.
For the president to be seen in two years they are running for reelection that you keep your program your doctor and an -- -- done so.
There's just no way there's there's no room left for this kind of disengagement.
And so what -- they don't.
-- I don't know -- I think I would describe this morning I think this is the worst case scenario on the if you combined mechanical problems.
The hindrance to getting people enrolled that we need to -- -- -- cost him.
Combined with the fact that administration has no credibility left and as you have pointed out this whole squeeze in the self insured is in this exclusive -- people off the.
Rolls altogether -- you know late on their penalty -- fear whatever is so if I think it's just.
It's hard to -- Democrats defending that's I think it's going to be you know it's gonna build pressure for delay and then beyond that maybe.
Two here's your best case scenario.
That AB Stoddard we'll continue to guide you Internet through these rocky shoals maybe we thank you for making on the Internet has always grateful.
Our -- Internet you'll be grateful for this to.
When we come back so it's been a year -- these super storm sandy rocked the eastern coast of the United States yes.
But it had big political fallout coming as it did right before an election.
And the lasting impact.
And that include how the belief has been administered and how it was delivered.
Will have some will shape the contours American politics for some time to come.
You want to hear about that because it will be interest thing in our panel talk about that when we come back plus can coach and LA he's waiting to talk to you so stick around.
The president told me -- I have one more minute there was someone else he wanted me to talk to.
But he was called from Air Force One and he's only got in times of real difficulty.
He thought it that the only thing better than one Jersey guy.
Where -- your Jersey guys and he put Bruce Springsteen on the phone.
That -- retelling issued from Chris Christie governor Republican governor of New Jersey a recounting the time that he talked on the telephone.
With Barack Obama and Bruce Springsteen and this is power -- welcome back now.
Chris Christie is cruising to reelection to one margin in New Jersey there is no doubt about it.
That he is cooperation with President Obama.
In the aftermath of hurricane sandy helped endear him to the -- of -- heavily democratic New Jersey electorate.
How will that have in terms of a lasting effect for Christie going forward.
If he does is he has suggested he might run for president of the United States on the Republican Party side of things people who know about that and much more.
Are joining us from nueva York Alan Colmes.
He is the host of the nearly -- -- Alan Colmes show radio show which is excellent is a Fox News contributor -- for a Alan dot com hi Alan hello I IA.
Economists that's make nearly you're almost you're all you have a couple of extra words but -- nearly economists -- And -- keel but is the president of the aptly named -- group that is that is good you are a Republican strategists.
And that you do politics for the red team and you're -- New Jersey it.
And OK sure so you got that you're ready strong okay Jersey -- -- -- we have people who know about such things.
And -- I wanna start with you Chris Christie can attribute.
It is impending success.
With New Jersey voters.
To the fact that he worked so closely.
And even if it didn't help Mitt -- get elected president with Barack Obama on the eve of last.
New Year's presidential -- Jersey voters can thank -- Obama because he responded quickly he went to New Jersey.
The any idea that he would then -- he would hug that that somehow hurt Chris Christie's chances.
With a Republican Party is insane of course you have -- ideological extremists.
-- you can't even touch it actually some are just -- or think of Barack Obama here anathema if -- -- use that word.
But I thought the but the president delivered for New Jersey the governor appreciated they also appreciated getting to meet Bruce Springsteen which I think is with a real motivations.
Right now Matt Republicans aren't big on Barack Obama as Allen points out and -- there were many.
Who thought that while it Christie did.
Understandably was understandably grateful to the president for eight and that he needed to show that he was eager to work with Washington to provide -- -- That he overdid it on the eve of an election and didn't help Mitt Romney by inviting Romney to come in and and tour storm damage and appear publicly with them.
One thing that they did -- could've done better is.
Maybe had the warm embrace of the president but also held him more accountable and cut after the initial aftermath -- -- -- the go.
And leading up to -- on it.
Had -- presence here today but I want to follow up with him and all these.
My friends in the press that are here today in 48 hours and 72 hours and -- two weeks.
There's a lot of things that happened for people -- I know up in.
New Jersey was -- it's only the initial.
Interest right went away fairly quickly.
And that has been true that of the billions of dollars.
Somewhat begrudgingly appropriated.
A lot of that money hasn't flowed well that was.
That ballot -- of congress that's not an issue the president the provost Peter king of New York.
Has been furious.
-- this fellow Republicans who had no problem appropriating money.
Or Texas or for Florida for example he's a very angry at Marco Rubio said don't -- don't bother don't come here.
Appropriating money is a congressional issue in the -- they eventually did.
Didn't didn't come forward as much as they should have.
Well that then they -- but the but the question I wanna focus here on this question about what happens to Chris Christie and Chris Christie shows up in New Hampshire deprive the okay.
But in states like South Carolina and Florida and whatever that Obama -- -- is gonna is gonna be there.
Certainly did his opponents and I try to turn -- into.
Liability for him.
But I think one of the things that Chris Christie and other Republican governors can point to is the fact that they have governed successfully.
And you know particularly for Chris -- he's in a blue state.
-- -- -- New Jersey assembly and senate heavily democratic and he's -- get a lot of his agenda done.
I think one of the things that everyone is going to be looking for -- Republican primary voters.
This summer this won't come in DC and shake things up a little bit.
And certainly Chris Christie -- that.
Why Alan do you think considered art it.
Democratic senate and a democratic gubernatorial candidate in New Jersey state senator Barbara blown out.
Is meant American has that right is just -- -- do we save -- Wanna put the issue -- and make it feel good.
But Allen that -- she is not been an ideal democratic candidate.
Did do you think Christie.
Set himself up so well that the Democrats didn't really put forward their best.
It's or weak field against Christie.
I don't know there's anybody could beat Chris Christie and again blame.
There's 10 I think the issue is here's a very popular governor got stuff done and a blue state as you pointed out and you think on the national scene.
People even in South Carolina -- -- to vote is extremely to the right would understand that.
If you really want to win elections you can't just feel that appeal a narrow sliver of the Republican Party has of late been appealing to and so conspiracy.
Could broaden the party base to do something they sorely needed.
Is that a joke are you teasing him about his way that's not fair that's not fair lost little.
He's like he -- had the surgery he's trimmed.
I was -- -- by the and in fact -- -- slipping away but generally indicate if popular running right that's right you you are exactly.
Right about that so.
Matt in terms of where New Jersey stands.
-- -- -- state -- render state post sandy or what what you or did it really change the contours.
Any change that contours and that Chris Christie was able to turn this state into a pro Chris Christie's state and get out as planned.
Blue and red and Republicans and Democrats which quite frankly he had to do.
And I also think quite frankly that country is looking for.
The country is -- -- the polarization of Washington DC and one of the things that he will be able to talk about is that he has worked with Democrats to get some things done.
And the other thing he'd say that Chris Christie and some people like this some people don't is when he -- he's gonna do something people think he fights for that it's.
-- a youth you have done a lot of this I wanna give you one more chance to do it as we close the segment.
To encourage people to support.
Folks who need help.
Still a year later there are a lot of folks would still need help absolutely give us the plug -- -- -- -- look here here in this part of the country I was in Long Beach Long Island a couple of weeks ago.
Where they -- entire boardwalk.
Much of that has been rebuilt.
A lot of folks that dollars have come in but -- -- lot of homes there for example right on the shore and have been destroyed.
And the East Coast that still needs to get to get itself together -- they've done a lot of a year but we're not done yet.
He is not economists for no reason -- Alan Colmes Alan dot com the Alan Colmes radio show we thank you for making time for us thank you.
Immaculate thank you for making time for us we appreciate you are right Internet can -- an -- is waiting to talk to you.
We're gonna ask -- about the latest polling we're gonna ask about the president he'd be doubled democratic presidential treatment that his opponent Terry McAuliffe is getting we're talking about his closing strategy.
As one of the marquee -- one of the only marquee races for 2009 draws to a close will be here because he cares about what you think just to correct.
Thomas Jefferson James -- row Patrick Henry and John Tyler.
Those guys were all at one time governors of Virginia.
And this is power play welcome back.
Somebody would like to join the ranks of those fellows who three of whom went on to become presidents of the United States but -- off kind of a big deal.
This can -- finale he's the attorney general of the commonwealth of Virginia.
And it's a pretty big deal for us that you -- time for us today thank you for coming into this and I know you had that this center seat on the panel last night on special report I watched.
And cures empowers -- -- she was not able to be here today to give you -- it's a second a second round.
-- bean bag.
But that you -- that was a tough the tough position you you held up admirably.
Being questioned by Charles Krauthammer is not exactly.
India anybody's idea of a softball today right no I'm used to cross -- people myself yeah.
And where you -- a good sport about it.
We appreciate that so White House confirms last night President Obama coming into.
The Old Dominion.
On Sunday to -- get out the vote rally.
Bill Clinton has been.
In Virginia will stay in Virginia on behalf of Terry McCall who by the way we're hoping will accept an invitation must be on the show before Election Day we'd like to talk to him to.
But that's some pretty big guns there's a new Washington Post poll out today that -- you're down double digits.
And the president is just come -- and a pile on what do you say well.
I think the president coming in really gives us an opportunity to lay outs in the stark choices in this race.
-- my opponent Terry McAuliffe didn't think obamacare went far enough when they introduced -- he wanted to.
Have the full blown public option so not only did he want them running these health care changes.
He also one of them selling the insurance.
So if you think the health care changes are working well would it be great if you're buying an insurance from the government.
And I think we ought to be going in the other direction I was the first person in the whole country to fight obamacare is -- first attorney general to go to court.
About thirty minutes after the president signed the bill and now within our governor's race.
We're debating whether or not to do the Medicaid expansion the next big decision under obamacare and it's out in the states and it's going to be made one state at a time.
And it should not shock anyone to know.
My opponent is all for the expansion and I am against it.
But why would we expand failure it's already a failure we've not more people out of their insurance than have gotten insurance.
Since this went live October 1.
It's we now are learning this week that they were lying to us all along.
About the fact that millions of people were going to lose their insurance and they knew it even while they were promising.
If you like your insurance you can keep it.
And my opponent is all in for this if people want to send Washington a message on November 5.
They can vote against obamacare by voting for a governor who will continue to resist its expansion and asked me.
Or they can.
Double down on it and vote for someone who's running for governor promising to expand it even further does he thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced bread and that's Terry McAuliffe.
Now from clear choice.
We don't want to get -- we don't want to get too far down the weeds but basically you've been out campaigning with Rand Paul.
Senator from Kentucky sort of a lower case L libertarian there's an upper case L libertarian in this race -- service and we will expect -- embedded not to get too grain you'll bring -- but will expect that Terry McAuliffe will underperform polls is Democrats traditionally do on Election Day we're part I -- any given Republican turns -- at a higher rate.
In any given Democrat.
But the presence of -- libertarian in this race.
Could bid could make the difference here what's your pitch to those -- Well first of all -- in years in my lifetime.
I have been the strongest pro liberty elected officials statewide in Virginia -- -- Whether it is fighting the biggest opponent of all the federal government which I've done repeatedly we've talked about health care.
But there's also the EPA which I've fought several times on a bipartisan basis.
And beaten them.
All the way down to a single person.
When I leave his attorney general I will hold the record.
For helping exonerate the most wrongfully convicted felons of any attorney general -- history.
A record I'm very proud of and next month I'll be going to court to argue another case.
Along those lines as well so whether it's one single person in Virginia who has known to speak for them once -- convicted as a felony.
Not a lot of people are jumping your defense or literally the biggest opponent in the world the federal government of the United States I have been the best fighter for liberty.
In years in my lifetime and.
We've watched as Republicans in blind quotes.
And in a whisper campaign have questioned the wisdom of going to a convention system for choosing Republican nominee in Virginia bill Bolling.
The lieutenant governor has openly groused about it.
And I have heard and not to go all Politico -- are new here but I have heard many of the whispers.
Well we told you so we told you so we told you so from your fellow Republicans in Virginia as this gap has persisted in the polls what do you say to them.
Well I don't think the -- were connected al-Qaeda I think that you know every year there's a separate decision made whether or not to.
The -- primaries are conventions in Virginia.
It is so inside baseball there isn't a voter in Virginia who cares right who hasn't already decided what they're doing.
And what we're focusing on is the tax difference between me and -- -- lower them -- raise them.
I have a plan to lower than 700 dollars per family his spending promises and raised in 17100 dollars for family there's not a person.
In that convention there's not a person who voted in -- primary that disagrees among Republicans that we ought to be lowering taxes increase job creation.
Nor is there disagreement that we ought to be resisting the expansion of obamacare in Virginia just as I did when it.
Was it first came out so there's an awful lot of areas of agreement.
I haven't yet found a person I agree with a 100% of the time.
But I also haven't found somebody I don't agree with them something and we build on those areas -- unity and agreement and building campaign.
Hopefully spread that word of the people of Virginia.
And will win an -- that.
This will come as no surprise to the Internet but the last thing I want to ask you -- it is.
And we have a march on Washington today from my people from across -- the last have turned up in Washington today we have bipartisan legislation on the hill.
That is coming forward today from Joseph -- from West Virginia and a Republican House member from Kentucky.
That it comes forward to say you've got to stop this on the EPA.
A question and this is slightly.
Attorney is there something in court that could happen.
Oh absolutely -- actually -- so there's a couple of things first ball.
You know we talked about me being the first to -- on obamacare that was my second lawsuit -- attorney general the first one.
Was to get in and fight the EPA on the war on coal.
And again it was bipartisan there -- Democrat attorneys general in that case -- well it's going to the Supreme Court in this next term.
That's a key case it's going to Supreme Court and you saw last month a little more than a month ago the September 20 hole killing regulations out of the EPA.
Which my opponent he took -- eleven days to admit it.
But he supports those regulations which are intended to stop the building of new coal plants -- not just in Virginia but across America.
And that will be sued on that is legally a weak position for the EPA to take.
Virginia should be one of the plane -- among many other states suing over that and if you noted.
From being from Appalachia you know in Virginia that's where we -- -- Pull out of the ground.
Well not very good no it's not as good as West Virginia -- but it's OK it's all right -- -- it.
Let you know like the folks that part of Virginia don't have other options.
The war on coal in Virginia.
Is a war on our war in Virginia needs a governor who'll fight for south West Virginia there's only one of the track record.
After you've answered questions from Charles Krauthammer -- -- seems easy but we appreciate you making time for us today mr.
attorney general thanks very much okay Internet we have to go.
But we will be back tomorrow and again will be hoping that we get visit for mr.
McAuliffe before all is said and done.
Here's hoping we thank you for making time for us we'll see you back here tomorrow and now as mr.
could finale Arnie knows a word from our friend Charles.
You want to catastrophic plan which is very rash.
But -- -- -- saying you know you're too stupid to understand what you want.
Once you eliminate the market response which is a lot of people decide I know what I want better than the bureaucrats and they were eliminating -- that's the essence of what's happening and that's why not gonna work.
