Well -- actually.
It's because we've invested a great deal of money.
In our repairing our infrastructure our bridge repair we -- the nation's largest number of structurally deficient bridges.
But I have tripled our bridge spanning from 260 million of state dollars to 800 million dollars in state money.
We've done bond issues to accelerate -- -- bridge repair we're doing thirteen hundred bridges right now.
An additional four and forty because the stimulus money so -- -- making a big dance and our backlog and infrastructures important to us.
-- state that.
Is it passed through state people on the East Coast -- Pennsylvania to get to the midwest.
So our roads get a lot of wear and tear and it's important for our economic competitiveness -- quality of life and public safety setup that we keep our infrastructure up.
Let's talk though about the the greater concern and I actually -- do share this concern with you I think that we have not done enough in this country to make sure that our roads and rails.
And our electrical grids are all up to snuff so do you think you can get this money at a time when you know money is a little time.
Well the interesting thing is -- the American people have a different view of infrastructure spending Brian.
Than they do of other types of government spending perhaps because they can see -- they can touch it taken -- right.
They're much more in favor of it in interest can -- my -- which does a lot of polling for big business organizations.
Found that 88% of Americans think that.
Having good infrastructure good roads bridges highways is important to our economy.

It infrastructures -- best GR job creator and it's been the most successful part of the stimulus bill clearly the most successful part so that'll be good for our economy.
Good for -- economic competitiveness and good for public safety.

Probably project or.
Infrastructure project that they -- -- What do you say to those people were a little bit skeptical about.
Where are -- And the polls show that -- the public wants infrastructure spending clearly.
But they wanted in a different way in a more transparent way they don't want.
A powerful congressman to be able to pick projects they want projects picked on merit a cost benefit analysis.
And that's that the key with the congress and the president has to give them.
A system where projects -- are done.
Based on the merit and the impact of the cost of the project and that's very important that there is a constituency for -- only one of people.
As you know Brian this is a reason you or call me today I -- Saturday op Ed piece with senator James inhofe of Oklahoma.
Who is a fine man but a true conservative true deficit hawk someone who he and I don't agree a lot.
But we do agree on the need for investments in the nation's infrastructure.
It's senator and -- -- sanity hearing that I testified.
In front of them.
He said it's the second most important thing we can spend money on -- active military and people understand okay again they want good effective projects that they want to spend on our bridges roads and highways water systems and the like governor we appreciate you joining us here on America's News HQ are -- for this program thanks for the.
