Say they approve.
Say they disapprove that's pretty tight split down the middle and -- how do you interpret those numbers.
Well -- interpret those is more bad news the good news for the president simply for the reasons that we just saw.
There's increasing skepticism about the president's economic policies.
-- deployed it is very close to 10% at there's no real sense that Washington has a plan.
To deal with the underlying economic problems facing our country at.
Distrusted government as we saw is going.
Up and up.
And Alex that you know that when when the president took office and little more than a year ago he was in the high sixties -- a lot of polls for these approval rating -- just normal that they would settle down a little bit or do you think that he's dropped off more than you would expect.
Well I think your -- political gravity of what goes up must come down but it's really dropped in over a year I mean he's dropped more than other presidents.
And he's really in the danger zone announced on and this is the second pole in a -- now that you all done.
Where he is below the 50% approval rating and we know that when he's -- there in the forties.
That means there's going to be a big shift in house seats in November so going into this and eternal -- since he's not in good shape right now.
And I'm not sure that it's gonna get much better looking hats aren't let's look at some topical things some of the policies that we're dealing with here another Fox News opinion dynamics poll out this week.
Talking about some specific issues and how the president is handling them.
We can look at the economy and health -- those seem to be the biggest issues of trouble for him 56%.
Of people city disapprove of how -- is doing.
On those two issues -- any surprise.
No I don't think there's a surprise given what's happening but Alex is right if you of the 56%.
Negative on to -- the most important issues.
Facing the country it tends to create a situation where the mid term election is a referendum on your performance and that's bad news for the president and the Democrats.
Aren't gonna break down health care -- little bit more than gets you Alex sound without a USA today Gallup poll that asked people you know after his big summit that we have on Thursday a lot of hype a lot of interest.
Do you think that they're actually getting to reach an agreement the two parties everybody involved with this -- -- 7% say no all.
22% say yes and we look further than that in the next poll who's responsible for health care reform not passing -- it doesn't happen.
Congress is at 37%.
The president 5% when you combine -- 256%.
It looks like plenty of blame to go around Alex.
Absolutely and I think we all knew that nothing was gonna calm of what was going on on Thursday ending really it was a hail Mary pass by the president.
And Democrats in congress to try to.
Somehow convince people that this health care reform debate has been a bipartisan process and it wasn't some behind closed doors and we know them both of those things are not true.
What we do know isn't that the public does want Republicans and Democrats to work with the president and to pass something.
But more importantly they don't want the bill that the president and Democrats are pushing.
In fact and pulling that we did this week we saw that six in ten Americans would rather start all over again.
Then continuing down the garden path that Democrats and let -- over the last year.
-- we will watch and see how this plays out to get more interesting about today that Sean Alex -- thank -- both the -- and well -- --
