I'm sure by now you've seen a review -- -- -- eleven.
Ford Fiesta if you -- over -- -- -- dot com you can put it there in May not have known.
The car has an evil twin sisters check this thing -- this is the breaching version.
Of the Ford Fiesta with me now one of the guys who gets paid writer -- ever.
That really that.
Man and a graphic.
Now it's just a rally -- -- car driver extraordinaire good to see in the studio and gives him so you're driving the rally Ford Fiesta now.
Let's -- but the car for -- little about what -- what you do with it.
-- the car the car itself is it's a rally cross coroner's this year he's in Europe has been going on since like 1967.
Tom rally cross -- basically these cars that are rally cars.
With twice the horsepower in the normal rally -- goes through the forest and they put him on essentially a closed course usually about a mile and a half -- half payment half gravel.
And they stardom door to door up to six car's door to door so it's it's incredibly exciting they're sprint races only six races six laps.
And the cars are insane and the fiesta has been one of the dominating cars in that series.
And I mean specs on the cars like 600 horsepower all wheel drive that is a car that stock at under twenty -- right -- -- -- Franken -- little departure from the stock car.
It -- you know 2700 pounds when he six point 700 pounds.
Go zero to 162 seconds.
And make sixty pounds of boost from the terrible.
I mean it's.
Driving the car is insane it's really a I mean vicious car that.
It almost feels like you're constantly trying -- -- it down like.
Like hold it back because if you ever let that thing loose I mean I don't know what would happen but it's it's really an exciting Carter drive should.
-- you drove it to two gold medals at the twenty X games in rally and super rally just got an offshoot of rally cross.
He got rally cross it's like auto cross now we're getting European rally -- coming here we get to one of the soccer football kind of situations.
We're gonna have to fish or cut bait on the name of one of these point.
-- in the end they definition is different right and I I think I mean super rallies probably a better name for it in the states because.
It is like super cross and -- rally racing mixed.
And -- use you know.
Rally type cars but then your shoulder each other out of the lines for the corners there's a lot of pushing a lot of contact.
And because -- sprint races everything's on the line every single corner.
So super rally probably sums it up but I think I think this a sport it's gonna take off from the.
States and we've got a series kicking off this year got a New Jersey motorsports park three races this year I think that those who were -- -- there sure right we got some European teams coming over.
To New Jersey and and a lot of guys from the state building cars and so these three events in New Jersey you're going to be a good place for and a to feel how.
How where their development needs to go what their cars and next year for 20116.
Race series planned just in the states.
Com and hopefully in the future a World Series and I think.
I mean the sport has all the best parts about motor sports for spectators -- -- got the dynamic driving it like sliding through gravel.
I you know insanely fast high horsepower cars.
Lots of passing in contact I mean what's not to love and it's -- -- Given the rally in that regard to rally it's like a car takes off and surrendered to Beers and an hour later and other cargoes and there's no car to car action there's no passing -- that so.
A lot of these guys are racing against are coming your street from rally is that something that you know you're out there on the -- -- look at Scott is that Traficant is something they have to -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- It's a little bit weird and like guys have never raced in circuit racing around racing where -- and door to door.
Will it'll be most similar to video game that's what it feels like Lee if he never played like dirt two or something like that where -- Your head to head and you coming in according almost use the kind of bounce off -- the little bit in the dirt that you can do that -- -- -- a little America a little bit it's.
It's not it's a you get a black flag and and get put to the back of the pack if you like bump somebody from behind and run bump and run and taking the position is bad but.
There's inevitably going to be contact -- that many kind of vicious cars and such a tight space.
And even as fast as the cars -- all the chaos that's going on the competitiveness is unbelievable it can be just three tenths of -- second from first to ten.
In qualifying so the speeds are so similar in so high.
That there's a lot of steaks and you you do need to push your way up to the front and the races -- so short you really don't have an opportunity to make the states.
Are are out in its.
There's a lot of strategy.
Involved because there's something called a Joker lap.
And and so okay you've got six cars doing.
A few left five laps right every car once has to do something called a Joker lap which is basically an X games it was a big jump.
That cost you about three seconds.
And what that does it gives you an opportunity you're stuck behind some meaning you can't pass something gives you an opportunity to get out of traffic three seconds back.
And run clean laps what and then eventually back guy's gonna have to do the -- lap as well and then everything comes together right at the finish line and makes for really exciting racing.
But it also adds an element of strategy time to the chaos and I was -- Of the web set on this my understand this is an open series and if you have.
Some sort of racing record goes downtrodden.
And under this event be racing against you.
Yeah absolutely I mean it's it's the cool part about it is that hey you know any but he can you know -- -- -- wrong and it's.
Obviously they in the qualifying you -- into these heats and say you'll be running against people would like speed cars.
But it's it's a great opportunity because I think I mean we've already got that you know some television interest.
Got a lot of manufacture interest and a lot of compact competitors are.
Coming out to these events.
-- great sponsors and Iraq's our -- been a sponsor of mine and and all other things and as soon as they saw what these European route across that was about their like gas signed me up so.
It's I think a great opportunity for people that may -- Have not started their racing career yet and for people that are racing something else and -- -- -- have some -- with us.
Been doing this in Europe this year the only American over there right now you coming in this is a little bit of ringer really at the two golds at the rally at the X games -- Diego little extra practice over -- in Europe.
I wish I -- I'll be -- -- I possibly can you know but I definitely have to practice and some exposure in the rock star fiesta and that's.
You know I've I've done 54 events this year in Europe and about one more in the Czech Republic coming up on a couple weeks but he eats.
You know that kind of practice helps and it's and it's familiarity because but most cars that you're in a rental car working around a racetrack I don't know what you wanna do that but if you ever -- You know you're working as a driver Tenet to ring the car out.
But -- these cars you're working as a driver to calm the -- down because they're just hyper -- And so familiarity with.
The capabilities of the harsh critical.
And so that's that's my advantages and I know my car.
But people are gonna come in there and and you know it's gonna get mixed up real quick there's going to be a lot of competitive team jumping out of the woodwork.
-- no stranger to the start out.
Motor sports in the United States he won the first -- you get involved in professional drifting five or six years ago.
Do you think this has the same sort of reaches that and that's grown quite a bit -- this is gonna have centered region possibly even more because another rabid media it's huge sellers here.
Seattle drifting you know in formula -- took over drifting in and and got that moving they've done amazing things -- it.
And it's been an incredible sport for a lot of drivers and and it's it's it's really done amazing things.
Rally cross I think has every bit of the potential and and 11 thing the rally car us has -- -- back pocket is X games.
And it was it was introduced to the states via you know.
The biggest action sports.
And then of the in the world.
And the summer X games as super rally.
And so we get that kick start -- -- get that every single year as a returns to X games so I think it has huge potential.
I'm not just because -- -- teams but also because it has all of those dynamic parts of racing.
And I mean on another note I think it's it's also kind of important in the states.
These types of cars are typically seen as race cars -- performance cars the smaller two leader cars there they're usually seen as like com.
I economy cars.
Have more around the rest of the world the two liter model is like the high performance model.
And and so I think this is an important time -- a great time to showcase them the wrong brutal performance capabilities of these smaller cars.
Although I got to imagine they're not getting the same mileage out there that.
As your market report here -- -- these cars here forty about -- yeah probably not happen and it may just just a little bit below that I am.
Course that I you're very -- -- says the -- -- -- the television -- -- the super cars -- speed what's the -- target the -- that the tickets -- you know thousand horsepower less than simply if that's.
Thousand horsepower -- you know and I drove a thousands yesterday I was in a thousand horsepower.
Four GT topology to 1000 as the Tennessee.
And and we are doing -- Tennessee viper vs Tennessee four GT.
And it -- epic I mean that.
Thousand -- ridiculous twice the stock that you need to enter into an advance -- our -- ridiculous that we get a standing mile are usually we -- a standing myelin that track.
It we had shorter runway so -- -- standing half mile.
And from a standstill and a half mile which you know some football players can throw that.
A half mile it was 175 miles an hour.
From a standstill it is it's just amazing performance and so that's that's a lucky part of my job is I get to drive these insane beasts.
And and ring and out.
And after in a couple days I'll drive -- thing which is something I've never.
Even seen in person threatening people get into this it's -- pretty.
Tightly -- -- by Lexus pretty wild stuff it's was this effort.
Yeah I'm I'm really looking forward to and it's spokesman really technically advanced and and -- you know it's always cool to see these these halo -- these are not cars for everybody obviously.
But it's always cool to see.
What these you know thousands of engineers and marketing people in and what these manufacturers can dream up.
And put together.
And and not just get this team on a piece of paper and that's a great thing about that show and in other shows like top gear and stuff like that where you.
Take these works of art in these expressions of their marketing strategy or whatever and then ring and out and run him hard and -- them or you know do.
Juvenile things with them that's the -- hence the great part about -- gave it to do your of course were the three lucky this -- disease in the United States as -- -- -- -- -- the this version.
You -- mentioning that right now you don't shoot me got we appreciate your right now we're we're just about done with first ten episodes then a lot of adventures.
Tell some of the places you still for the show most well most recently -- -- -- -- in Arizona.
Just little while ago driving raptor.
-- is that your husband -- I was and I wasn't expecting to be able to just beat on -- -- so hard but.
I mean it was kind of kind of like -- anger management therapy I think I give you can take one of those things through the desert and just.
-- and just announce -- and jumping in just pick any.
Jump -- just hit hard an -- that thing out.
Afterwards you're just like com your like you know Gandhi after that and is just it was such -- -- -- think experience system.
You know rail on that thing in and it took every bit of it but.
Before the heavily americanized -- if you.
It's a lot of now you and I can -- -- -- -- and Jeremy Clarkson drive around no he did the light boards an extravaganza perhaps that's her aunt and we've we've you know had great adventures and that's what that chosen audience it's really adventures.
Involving cars kind of celebrating the -- that people can have a car it is not your USA did you go overseas the first season is ultimately the best -- I did actually I shot in England for for one of the shows I was over there doing one of the European -- across rounds and shot in England there and and I met those guys -- worked with a little bit when they're here in the states.
It's I mean -- incredible experience and and and I really you know there's not a lot of American car shows that have that kind of you know where you're out just ripping on cars and in celebrating cars that have a kind of production value.
And and devote the resources to that production and and so it's.
It's great to be a part of that.
And and tend to have fun with cars and go on these adventures history shows is going to be this winter we will win it this -- -- -- -- -- -- towards the end of November.
Beginning of December is when when they're gonna start there's ten episodes in the first round to -- the -- -- you're still do that still haven't done that yet that's going to be in the LA area I think.
Lot of controversy going on in Europe right now as we speak.
-- favor of their claim to have unmask their version of the stake.
We can get to have that same sort of controversy here will there be a state I can neither confirmed nor denied the if there's a -- their building and now life you know it's complicated thing to put together why would they need to stay -- they have a professional racing driver on the staff.
You know this this state is somebody who makes no mistakes and every race car driver does so.
It's it's I mean it's an important thing to have if you're gonna test cars I was at Florida that Florida following rally cross thanks for -- -- there -- through my pleasure to be.
