Hear it on the record we always give me the inside story tonight a one of the kind that you -- going behind the scenes to a private dinner Reverend Billy grams house special guest former Alaska governor Sarah pan.
After the dinner Governor Palin sat down with Reverend Billy -- -- evangelistic.
Evangelistic association -- consider some of the political challenge that I go to -- some of the stuff that's in the media Ers are just you know some of the shots that we take I think -- Everybody's facing challenges some of my challenges just may be on the front page of the paper that day.
In fact a lot of people say how and why is still standing how are you still standing why -- coming back for more.
And then I get the opportunity to say you know what god -- and sneak through the challenges.
-- heat heat.
At any also allows me to stay very very grounded because my family my kids in my kids reminding me of what's important every day.
What -- we go through it as.
That some consider challenges there are some would consider and something that we dinner really put a stop to what your progress is your your efforts are.
I hold -- to that scripture to this is now with the enemy seeks to destroy you with no God's gonna turn it around for good.
I think everyone is born with.
-- god -- boy weighed in there in -- -- in their hearts and I think that everybody is seeking something more beyond what it is that we can see hear feel and touch today here on this earth.
When I was -- just a child.
I am looking around the grand creation that is -- -- -- I knew in my heart and soul but someone had created.
The greatness that we call Alaska.
It really was a dream come true to get to spend some time with Billy -- heat.
Is in need as he is probably to most Americans -- them so many people around the world.
-- that's it and icon and at that they hero but more than -- they think and advise her.
Someone you know so many of us have looked up to spending time with him.
Was for me perhaps.
I once -- a lifetime experience that I had so look forward to and I'm so thankful for the opportunity.
And -- -- was -- the family dinner she is president Angel ministries author of the book the magnificent obsession and of course the daughter reverend Billy Graham.
Before we go to the -- the magnificent obsession you must tell the viewers what the magnificent obsession is about.
Embracing god felt life I think many people -- -- -- -- their lives and listening to your program tonight Greta you know taxes come and -- and jobs coming go health comes and goes relationships coming ground.
But I think we need a foundation that doesn't come and go and that foundation for me and -- that.
Character Abraham the book is based on the life of Abraham the biblical character and a foundation of a relationship with gotten -- a religion.
But a personal relationship with god and actually listen to our Governor Palin.
It just expressing her relationship with god and you hear people from all walks of life.
You know all different backgrounds and yet that foundations let's see this through because our relationship -- got its permanent.
NATO about what should we have a special issue but if Sam -- -- have -- had the privilege of meeting today your father that his ninetieth birthday but also like your brother of -- North Korea with him twice.
This dinner how does -- talk about who is there.
Then the dinner came about I believe because the invitation had been extended to her whenever she was.
In that area if she could make the time to come up and -- my father and she was on his book tour.
And so I'm sure that this will be a good time -- to come up and that nothing has -- just England and my father just celebrated his 91 birthday -- -- -- -- -- -- He just celebrating his life first birthday I think people freaking out.
Because of his relationship with god and so there again -- something that.
I guess not just being spoken with so many people written seven books are met so many presidents it's the cause of who he is in this spirit and that's hard that's what she was thinking.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- piper was little girl that was there and then the baby and went to take them back -- I think she thought maybe they would disturb that event.
I couldn't afford to -- the -- a picture with.
With daddy and so they brought -- go get him frustrated.
And then the moment she sat him down and that he reached out and held his hand the baby quieted down it was really very sweet moment that was captured -- -- -- it's great that picture up -- another great that night so hard to believe that he's not anyone but.
In his mind -- clear and he was very -- Intrigued with the Governor Palin thing that he said afterwards.
That impressed him the most was how he thought she would come and former -- sort of take over just dominate the conversation.
And instead she was very thoughtful sensitive very warm and what he said sleeps he used the word she was very sweet torture almost like -- Coming to visit her grandfather your very gentle and kind letting him talk and down and he was very impressed and very.
I think he felt encouraged that she would come back the next day I was -- and he said he wanted to call in just ankle -- coming and I thought.
You know I'm sure that she wanted to do the same thing they called -- just thank you for being there.
Hey guess who met her before that night -- when she's spoken metal piece that we just showed that we have been out in the public -- essentially.
No I have not but I was interested to meet her because there's a woman.
And and I have done many things that are the first time things for a woman to do and I just admire her courage and her boldness and -- and she's a pretty tough lady.
You know you tell that tough lady and the first time me.
You know black and got an and that is your mother I think I guess they didn't talk about a woman who is a TrailBlazer your mother Melissa who grew up in Pyongyang -- -- went to school in Pyongyang had.
And she was somebody you know talk about that relationship with -- god.
It's because of my mother she she was she loves Jesus and -- was contagious she laughter Bob what she loved.
The word of god and she taught me by her example.
Come to love Jesus and -- God's words and I wouldn't take anything I'm -- talking about the commitment to serve.
And the stuff that's out of my comfort zone and has served gods are where god calls him but I was my mother had taught me the rollout for the scriptures and that's what we try to get across the magnificent obsession because Abraham pursued a personal relationship -- god one step at a time when choice that -- -- day after day.
Wasn't perfect he failed to make mistakes but he never quit team just press forward in the -- god called Abraham and his friend so what.
Phyllis Diller another magnificent obsession and read a book audition so one yes a bullet proof -- what they've set my life's goal -- asked what sort of setting Abraham 33 years ago Shakespeare should 33 years ago and so it's a lifetime project.
And they're gonna call that but if because Abraham you've got -- relationship god described as a friendship.
So 33 years ago I think that's how my goal and I want to know god better today than I did yesterday better tomorrow than I did a day and well president question can you -- Franklin around finishing the newest and charging Iraq.
That's against them but yes I've been -- -- -- older -- I think -- feed him.
So we look forward to travel and again with a -- but if -- let us and had to have this summer slump where you're very gracious thank make him less.
