-- Governor Sarah Palin has some.
Of boisterous confidence and their ability to pull off and win Pennsylvania voters take a listen to this.
Do you ever go in that -- it.
-- -- policy expert Chad don't name it and the jets written not to could be.
Be up against beat elite team that at all.
And they were held in by the media.
I'm playing the reply.
We're gonna win that game I'm hearing TN and -- why can't I.
I'll tell all lined up by -- -- praised him some in this state his home state Pennsylvania which you're out.
Don't win that -- right here.
You -- guarantees victory there.
The numbers suggest otherwise should the Democrats be worried we're joined by Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell good morning got her.
The morning we'll start off.
But telling governor -- -- -- pennsylvanians do their talking on Election Day.
I didn't know what governor and she's touched on something I think that you two must feel a little bit concerned that -- -- sent.
Two -- to the Obama campaign telling them they need to get back to Pennsylvania before Election Day and do some more campaigning why -- you.
Well a good governors always nervous no elections -- until the last day.
Barack Obama such a forceful presence and when he comes -- people listen to them that they're immediately.
Turned on they think this guy can be a great president I wanted him back in the state just like every day and democratic governor wants him back in their state but he's coming back.
To a Monday night to Pittsburgh.
Tuesday the Philadelphia I think we're getting President Clinton and so we're getting our troops and you know holes are good but we're still nervous because anything can happen.
Well the polls you -- quickly -- mention that Obama right now real clear politics poll has 51% to McCain's 40% in Pennsylvania.
And we have a big tote board -- -- governor no one knows Pennsylvania politics more than you and when we look at the terrain and geography of this giant map behind us here.
Let's look at the state because as you point out Barack Obama coming back to look at Philadelphia.
He's campaigning in Philadelphia he's also out in Pittsburgh where he's having some problems but as you'll -- said the state will be one of these areas around Philadelphia.
Is that where Barack Obama needs to be concerned that he doesn't have the numbers right now is McCain hoping for some upsets here.
No right now and end all of the polls the southeast of Philadelphia suburbs are going overwhelmingly for Obama.
He may win in the eight counties that make up the Philadelphia team TV market margin big I have to carry into our state.
But he wants to do more than that which is why is coming back to Pittsburgh I think the battleground right now is southwest Pennsylvania Allegheny County.
All those counties washing in beaver -- -- all the counties around Allegheny that's really what about -- Anybody that middle of the state the middle of state where your governor's mansion is that a problem however there.
Well by the way when it's a Democrat it's the governor's residence -- -- government.
But now the middle of the states is strikingly Barack Obama is only down four points in the latest -- he's doing better than any Democrat since Lyndon Johnson but look.
Polls are just snapshots as you point out things move very fast and elections so -- -- on guard.
We want to turn out every voter we want to reach every undecided voter and persuade them we're taking nothing for granted.
This isn't decided until Election Day and I will tell you this secret weapon here I know the press keeps saying will race is the secret factor who knows what's gonna happen there.
The secret weapon is the Obama field organization.
I've been in politics for 31 years I've never seen anything like it last week in Pennsylvania.
They made 270.
Knocks on doors and 990000.
Knocks on doors and 720000.
Phone contacts of voters never seen anything like.
-- -- and let's compare that's what they're doing in that their ad sales of doubles and I've never seen anything like -- you did a tremendous amount of money that they have spent.
The airwaves there with Obama -- if you're watching the Penn State game last night how they.
Did you -- A lot and let me tell you we were outspent.
But four to three all the way through October 1 in Pennsylvania.
The McCain campaign made a huge investment here.
But the Obama campaign has saved their money through the end and I think their -- are very effective particularly those two minute ads that were on about two or three weeks ago.
I think they were incredibly effective.
Speaking to people.
-- you talked about and you were certainly a huge Hillary Clinton supporter and one of the things where McCain excuse me Barack Obama had problems in the primaries was locking up and sealing the deal with these undecided voters as you point out Harrisburg.
He's down about four points in a -- there he's up in Philadelphia.
How does he seal the deal with these Hillary Clinton voters who went wildly for her during the primary.
But I think it -- -- Hillary Clinton voters fell into categories one.
Women activists who've been with Hillary will lives.
I think Hillary is persuaded 90% of them they're in the Obama column.
But the working class blue collar white voters that supported Hillary dramatically because she became a symbol.
The middle class here in Pennsylvania.
Those voters up until about six weeks ago I think we're up for grabs when the economy tanked.
And when John McCain was all over the lot saying first the economy was sound insane there was a crisis -- saying he was gonna fire the SEC chairman which he has no parent do.
-- he was gonna suspend his campaign which he didn't that he wasn't gonna debate and he did.
His performance was so bad and Obama's was so cool.
And calm and collected his -- -- -- rescue it really resonates with Americans rebuilding our infrastructure things like that.
That Obama -- in the polls and I think if race was ever a factor in Pennsylvania.
It's been trumped by the bad economy.
-- -- let's talk about race because as you know job birth.
Has said that some areas some regions are actually.
Racist regions do you think -- that has soured some people all of the Democratic Party and whom he supports Barack Obama.
I'm sure that's disappointed some people -- and Jack has.
Tried to clarify his statements but again let me give you an analogy that I think is right on point and it's on point for these.
Blue collar white working class voters in our worried about one thing.
Their own budget their own pocketbook issues let's assume you're in the middle of a river and your boat capsized.
The currency storm really get to the -- -- you see a man on the riverbank and he's holding rope.
At that point you don't care whether he's black white purple or orange all you care about is is is Armstrong enough to get that wrote to me in the middle of the river.
Barack Obama has the strongest arm he's got the best plan I think working class pennsylvanians understand that that's -- his lead has ballooned from two points.
Before that Wall Street -- tanked to 1011 points today.
Well governor Ed Rendell live for us this morning from the great city of Philadelphia where thank you for waking up -- -- so early after being up till two I was I'm glad.
I was up -- that it took me half hearted come down -- Braves Phillies fan and we'll be watching today hopefully our team can make it to -- actually get a victory over well forget that you governor at --
