A big question tonight one poll did the TV show one tree hill play in the death of Caylee Anthony.
Authorities are looking very closely at one episode in particular alleging Casey did some research on Google about a nanny kidnapping.
On the hit TV show could that -- -- Casey's alibi about nanny snatching came from.
Well let's bring in our panel tonight Florida prosecutor Pam -- -- criminal defense attorney Jeff Brown join me in Florida good to see you guys.
Yeah former LAPD homicide detective mark -- is joining us by phone mark you first.
They take her computer Casey Anthony and they probably find a -- of stuff but it think find this episode of this show that she searched it.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- Plot line.
Is it relevant to investigation.
I think -- after everybody leaves the salute them -- the investigative ground -- think it becomes relevant in the context of time lines.
And and win if if that is -- surge basically the same time as.
Score form as other.
Other things that she's reaching out on the I think it becomes relevant.
And then it becomes irrelevant if it is all by itself because it is certainly could mean something but you know -- be able to prove it.
Whether by a detective or prosecuted.
Pam is -- admissible as a prosecutor.
Yes Jamie and for other reasons that mark just sad.
If it fits into that timeline this is kind of a completely circumstantial case.
And the prosecutors are gonna have to lay out a very -- tale that timeline.
Every little thing she did it has to piece together to prove this crime and I think you could have a great impact on a jury.
Given all that other things that she researched on the Internet if it fits into that time line it can be very damaging to her.
One more thing that's going to be very bad for Casey Anthony Jeff.
A lot of tales they followed up on every lead for a potential nanny.
With this in mind if the jury sees an episode like this knows it's on -- computer and they know vaccinated Gonzales does not exist.
How does a defense attorney do you talk your way out of that line.
Well I think first of -- you gotta admit that your client made some lies she lied and and we're not convict here though because she's a liar.
But we don't know in what context this show is shown -- -- maybe she downloaded every episode of one tree hill.
Maybe she's looking at a lot of different shows on there and they just single singling in on this particular one.
So we need to put -- -- in context and may be when you look at everything that's on the computer.
It's not just one thing there's a lot of shows and you can't pick on this one in particular but it is no doubt that in the beginning the defense or is gonna have to say listen my client told some lies.
-- she's covering up for somebody else that committed this crime she didn't want any harm done to her daughter but that's not a reason to convict -- Mark let me ask you because it.
What a prosecutor has a case like this they often hope that they will find the remains of the deceased because there might be potential evidence either to seal.
The fact that this suspect was involved or that there might be somebody else.
It's so hard to believe that they can already come to the conclusion and this is what the -- said that there is no additional evidence to be derived from toxicology or otherwise.
That will answer any of those questions what -- your thoughts on.
-- you know we've got a lot of cases there 2030 years old that we said the same thing.
And then lo and behold DNA came about so.
You know there's probably things in the work that might be able to take things -- -- next degree as far as -- but look look look at what they have.
The these suspects in this which is Casey Anthony most probably.
Kept the police.
In the corner and the medical examiner from being able to determine.
A cause of death.
Simply because she failed to actually tell the truth in any regard any time so.
I think it's very difficult we have skeletal remains and you're left with whatever -- -- never whatever tissue is left.
And then bone marrow and -- any drug is in store if if that particular drug the mineral or poison is not stored in the bone marrow.
We're just the actual in the -- -- -- -- is not a good enough quality.
Then you're kind of trapped but it is a homicide there's not a lot of people would die of natural causes.
After -- put themselves in garbage bag.
Mark I have to ask -- one question before we go on and some startling news today on the Jonbenet Ramsey investigation -- my new district attorney comes -- and says we're gonna take another look.
Well I think it's gonna always be pressure on any DA until that case is solved.
And this is clearly still a cold case I think the best thing so far this come out of it -- that the ramseys themselves.
Were cleared but that the Ramsey family deserves to justice.
And I think all that's really gonna happen now Jamie is they're just gonna wait until one day they hopefully get a hit.
Somewhere around the country in a DNA bank the DNA registries to growing.
It constantly every day that DNA bank grows and -- may be one day.
They will have a hit in this case can finally be -- is great news today that they they do plan on.
Taking another look perhaps some answers will come from that panel thanks very much good to see all of you -- -- come up next.
