Better known for his quick release rather than his fancy footwork on the football field.
But now that he's retired he's -- and from the gridiron to the dance floor.
And sort of sidestepping blitzing linebackers.
He's going to be learning that taxes to step on Dancing With The Stars.
Joining us from the dance studio where he's been practice and is moved his Kurt Warner -- -- You know I understand that your wife and children are big fans of dancing with the stars and they kind of talked you into this.

They were extremely excited you know it.
-- want -- to embarrass them on TV but they.
-- wanna be able to take part Michelle and watching and wants -- see if he cannot do anything on the dance war so they pushed me a little bit and made it easy to make this decision.
Now I gotta ask.
Are you a dancer I mean -- -- done this before is this something completely out of Kurt Warner's normal routine.
This is completely different than anything I've done before obviously be an athlete for thirty years that's.
Primarily what I've done -- -- dance a little bit here and there -- actually my wife and I've met.
In a country bar to step and in line dancing and all that but this is is a completely different world -- -- the technique -- steps.
All the different kinds of -- you have to do so this is a new round for me very different than what I've done before but.
You know -- have a lot of fun and it's a tremendous challenge and I'm looking forward to one united on from there and see -- I see what I can do.
Okay -- gotta ask what's tougher quarterbacking in the NFL.
Are preparing for Dancing With The Stars athletically speaking which one is as demanding.
What I think athletically speaking.
Prepared for a football season's probably a little more difficult.
Actually playing the position of quarterback may not be quite as difficult physically because we we played -- game more mentally than physically I think when it comes game -- but.
You know it's definitely strenuous to do this this ballroom dancing thing and the -- in the studio six hours a day trying to learn moves new steps different techniques.
It's definitely demanding and it's definitely a work out it's just a different kind of work out that I had on the football field.
You know when you said that being a quarterback isn't all that physically demanding -- I've seen some of those -- you've taken back there when -- in the pocket to pass.
Sometimes even written presenting itself for a concussion.
I'm not sure that the rest of us would look at some of the things that you've experienced -- I -- it's not that tough I think it's pretty dog on tough.
What you've been out there experiencing but but I'm gonna ask you that your -- because I'm thrilled to to hear your story.
Yours is one of those great American stories.
You were working at grocery store in Iowa sacking groceries stocking shelves.
And the next thing I -- it to a few years later you're the most valuable player in the Super Bowl and of the NFL how do you get from sacking groceries.
To the most valuable player in the NFL.
Woman obviously you have to believe in yourself lot of hard work goes into it but.
You know I just -- -- that believes that that god had a plan and it didn't quite play out exactly like -- thought it would you know I thought I go right from college into the NFL and everything would be great but.
What I think -- processes that got used all these different steps to really.
Give me a story give me a testimony that can impact a lot of people you know we've all been in those situations where it -- like we're down and out and doesn't seem like there's much hope.
You know my story is one that.
You have faith in yourself you have faith in god and it's amazing what can happen and I've seen that process and you know I'll try to use that to show people hey.
God can do amazing things.
Even though you might not -- that you're that amazing and that's what I feel about my stories that he took a little guy that was stocking shelves in a grocery store and Iowa.
And you know he gave me an opportunity to play in the NFL -- gave me a big platform to be able to share.
Who he is what I'm all about with a lot of people -- so.
I know I'm blessed every day and I'm thankful for the way that my story played out because I think a lot of people can relate to it very very very much.
Well you know one of the things we all can relate to is the fact that you've been faithful to your calling you have a person you're you're a person -- that never has -- -- hesitated.
To give a very clear testimony of your own faith and the importance that the -- played in your life and for that I'm extremely grateful because so many times -- get.
To a point they get really big.
And forget how they got there and you've never done that -- And I just grateful to you and I wish you the best I'm gonna be pulling for you to be the winner on dancing on the start I'd like nothing better.
