On his fourth of July some veterans are on a serious mission.
They're searching for the unclaimed remains of America's fallen heroes to make sure that they get that burial they deserve with full military honors.

One by one the names of 26 deceased veterans were -- their service honored with a color guard and three gun salute.
It may seem like a typical military service in this veterans cemetery in Redding California.
But these soldiers sailors airmen and Marines might never have gotten a proper burial.
Their ashes were abandoned left unclaimed in tin cans and boxes on funeral home shelves sometimes for decades.
Among them Darryl and Phyllis Payne who served in the navy during World War II and Florida has asked for peace for the families.
Stepping into the reaches a group of mostly Vietnam veterans who were part of the missing in America project started two years ago by Fred Ceylon -- It just gives us a way to express ourselves.

These men and women are finally receiving that thanks and respect they -- but there are perhaps tens of thousands still out there.
