They wanted to take different entertainers each time -- I handled that oh absolutely well they don't do it.
In that kind of magnitude and -- had 96 of us traveling every time why -- with cast and crew and but it.
You know I wish and that we had.
I wish that we had groups going -- to Iraq and Afghanistan we're doing that if it's a whole different -- a whole different kind of situation.
And and harder to do but I was doing USO shows.
On my own and then of course I was doing television and recordings and so forth so.
You know you get the call from the agents saying you know -- would like to see you -- here you and you.
Call from the age of Bob Hope would like to see you.
And you could take you to Vietnam yes to sing to the troops and when you look at how many people are there and we did it must've been so nerve -- you were so young I was so young and I think you know I grew up.
As a kid watching his shows never missing a Christmas show.
And so for me it was like the call of my career.
I mean it was the highlight of my career I I absolutely was in in my dream.
And purse on a personal level my father was an air force pilot.
Who didn't come back from world war -- so.

Was very emotional and and I had to close the show with silent night so that was really tell you cry.
Absolutely the first couple times -- -- home might ever get.
Three and hit those notes that's a tough song to sing anyway -- -- emotion at all.
Well I don't sing very well with crying so I learned how to just a look at that camera.
And and just you know -- now I'm not look at the guys because it was just it's too emotional from.
And for them I mean it was.

And it matriarch song now I mean I sing my little one's ever since they were born and it doesn't matter it's July or December.
The silent night to the mistake of sleep each night and I of course don't seem like -- daily.

You know it's a tough sign there have been times when I you know have held each of my children and they were feeling well they had colds during the -- whenever.
And I do get choked up and it's a hard song -- to -- -- belt out so I can't imagine.
You know -- your teenagers and early twenties having that the gumption to get up there in front of all these people.
You know fast forwarding today's veterans day obviously.
And -- in New York City unlike anyplace I have ever live -- ya know I grew up a military base so I've I've been -- and all over the world.

It's in the thirties not too cold but out on the water -- -- by the -- agencies tons of -- already this morning.
Up people in their dress blues I mean it is just a really really.
It's a real veterans day here -- you know patriotic day that I wish we had more and I'm so excited because I'm writing.
In the parade today with the and I'm so excited to do this and of course I have a new CD out that's.

Years old and do you think that that they have a real command of.

To know about the -- war to know about the importance of it at all -- it really did make a difference for for people like my dad who served in Vietnam.
I I think they do because I think.
Bob hope's legend will go on forever.
-- and -- I'm I'm hoping to do my part in in keeping it alive because I think.
What he gave to the troops was immeasurable.
And and who I had just a small part in being able to.
To lift them out of what they were facing.
