Without question there -- much waiting on the president elect's plate when he takes the Oval Office and many have said that he's moved smoother and faster in naming.
Team is cabinet appointees.
Then any other president elect in history.
All the smooth sailing though has it made expectations.
Higher than normal for the Obama presidency.
What will happen if some of these appointees don't work out.
Or the issues proved so difficult to handle that it takes time.
Let's bring in JP where -- Editor of the American spectator JP great to see what about that do you think the expectations given how smoothly things have gone so far and a lot of positive buzz about some of these appointees.
At the expectations are higher than normal.
Days are certainly a bit higher than normal I mean if you speak to any progressives they've certainly said.
A great deal of expectations pretty high for -- Obama but also conservatives are speaking are trying to underestimate him saying that.
There's no way that he's possibly going to get along fine.
Now if you take into account -- -- never legislative achievements that Brack Obama this has actually had.
Most people are hard pressed to even figure out what what he's actually done.
But Obama's been very good job of making up for -- shortcoming he has had.
Tom Daschle come on to his cabinet he's bringing on Rahm Emanuel.
He's also bringing on big name like Hillary Clinton to be secretary of -- so this is so he's being very shrewd about.
How he's going forward will there -- a number of appointments and announcements last week press conferences.
Almost every day and we expect more when Monday comments including Hillary Clinton the official announcement.
These are people that do have a lot of experience.
And that was something that came up a lot during -- campaign.
There -- so much facing each and every one of these appointees.
How much more closely do you think he will be watched and number these people disagreed with him on on important issues that they'll now have to tackle.
Right well that's actually pretty Smart because he's disabling his opposition by bringing people into the fold.
So as a result they're probably gonna be silence on on -- kind of that they're gonna wanna work with them to change whatever in a position he might have or.
Try to implement it in a way that they feel would be even more effective.
That's probably very Smart -- -- now also people forget this but when George W.
Bush came into office in 2000.
Part of the reason that -- cabinet appointments for such a mess with because there had been the recounted it taken so long for him to be able to have an opportunity to bring everything together.
So did you in recent memory there hasn't been it's very smooth transition.
And that's why Barack Obama's getting a lot of credit for -- movements.
-- likely this is a time in the world when we do need to.
That -- Particularly -- this unexpected terror attack in Mumbai.
I wondered are some of these appointees and less to the left then people had predicted.
Certainly certainly there -- more free marketeers.
During his cabinet for example you have Larry Summers -- -- very.
Strong free market guy he worked with the Clinton administration.
And so that shows that Obama is -- to be more centrist on economics and it's also shows that he's very shrewd.
When it comes to who he's -- and what he wants to actually accomplish its Martha because of foreign and economic downturn you do wanna have premarket people.
What about keeping Secretary Gates and President Bush.
-- Secretary Gates is very highly respected at least around the world -- -- he certainly didn't wanna go with somebody that would really rock the boat.
And he wanted to show that he was willing to reach across the aisle.
And I think that this is this is a success for Obama because this way he can certainly say -- look I have reached across the aisle I am.
More centrist than than I've been made out to be because I've been willing to have a Republican.
Cabinet members still in my cabinet.
Fox News had confirmed that Hillary Clinton will be the secretary of state you're managing editor what's your headline when the actual announcement is made.
-- we we we haven't even figured that out yet I mean there's so many ponds that were willing to offer but we might even just use the word Clinton -- All right thanks so much JP -- are always great to talk to you straight talking.
