Yeah thank you for having me so what prompted you to get involved in this in the first place decide you know what I'm gonna go inside -- -- of a tornado.
To get some film captured.
Well if you're doing an IMAX film on tornadoes -- spent all that time and effort in the field.
You know why not get extraordinary footage why not try and get that shot.
-- tornado coming directly out to an impact from you and that's.
That was the basis really -- what we're doing out that one heck why not indeed so you're out there shooting IMAX and I think.
Like all Americans we go see an IMAX film we think we're gonna probably see the best footage that's ever been shot on this particular event whether it's the summoning up Everest underwater.
In space or in a tornado so how did you manage to get inside.
Of a tornado.
Actually ended up designing and building my own.
Kind of tank.
But it's a 141000 pound vehicle that we his drive down the road and when we find that storm we track it.
And then when it's putting down -- tornado we get in front of it.
And we count lord of the ground and we film outside of -- turn it right right as -- -- is coming at us.
So I mean.
-- I've I've seen the movie twister of course and -- to think to myself is it like that where you're inside and suddenly romance -- appears in the skies open up and it's clear inside of this twister what is it like inside of this thing.
Inside of a tornado.
It is without a doubt extraordinarily windy.
-- it is utter chaos -- of thousands and millions of objects slamming into your vehicle.
When we were hit by -- tornadoes the vehicle is kind of shattering in slightly lifting.
In -- one time my trip which houses IMAX -- starting to leave the vehicle.
So I was actually.
-- -- myself down holding down that turn it.
Unbelievable what's the most surprising thing about tornadoes to you now that you're following and tracking him filming them to something surprise you about these things.
Record partner and yeah I'm not you're always surprised about how violent these tornadoes can be.
Just recently on the 27 of April you know we -- that.
Up massive tornado outbreak in Mississippi Alabama Tennessee.
And it's it's it's extraordinary that you know these these these phenomenon that's just you know basically rotating wind if you can do so much damage.
