The GOP field is already crowded with 2012 contenders but there could be a new face joining the next.

Republican congressman Thaddeus O'Connor Michigan just joins us that's -- like he is considering a bid for the White House congressman thanks for joining us today.

Well thank you very much for having our rates so what you bring different to this field why would you possibly -- again.

I think coming from Detroit we have a certain sensibility as to what's gone wrong at the federal level of government can be an obstacle to growth and prosperity people need.

To feel comfortable around the hearth and home to again realize that America's best days are ahead.

And to present at the present time we're not necessarily -- that that type of encouraging message from others and I hope that I could bring an articulation of that message into that.

Candidate into the candidates -- and maybe people would agree with -- I listen you of course are known around Washington an answer in your district -- well at home as being sort of quirky that's the word that's used in I think -- embrace it as well.

How do you think that will be a plus or minus for -- he hit the campaign trail.

What you have to understand in Washington -- is normal.

So and go up there in your -- normally don't assimilate to the inside the beltway culture suddenly you or somehow different than everybody else is something a kind of -- -- the fact that when I come home just like everybody else.

But when I go out there and different so I don't know whether I embrace it or not but I do admit that I'm not going to change any more than when I'm in Washington -- home.

Right so is starting off let's talk about a couple of issues that if you decide to -- and you'll certainly be asked about.

Medicare reform -- no I voted for.

I think it's a step in the right direction we start talking about putting free market.

Powers and to put in patient choice with the end in entitlement program.

We saw that with Medicare part.

Approach to health -- so the supply of health -- and grow to meet the demand we can see innovations have a patient centered allow competition to get the tip the cost down in conjunction with the changes within Medicare.

You cannot simply leave one of the other and Paul admit that because it was a budget document it was not an across the board attempt to reform which I think the house Republican's gonna come forward.

Aren't -- asked about another issue be taken some heat for an out when asked if you change your position this issue cards act which would allow unions to form.

Instead of with the secret ballot to have the alternative of simply having enough people sign up on carts to unionize a workplace.

About forty stand on that now -- supported in the past.

-- -- to -- the onetime bit over the course of time we've also seen as a Federalist is that these are the types of issues should be handled the state level.

Neither right to work nor -- check should be imposed by the federal government I think that the people the states are best able to make those determinations.

As we've seen they look -- differing conclusions.

But again the -- laboratories of democracy and -- think that that is the way to go.

-- -- quickly when asked about social issues things like abortion gay marriage.

There are some who think the GOP shouldn't be so focused on that and in 2012 what do you think -- -- -- stand.

Was -- Reagan and I don't think you can have a truce on social issues -- apple never allow -- after a member of the conservatives are fighting to defend.

Traditional institutions.

And traditional virtues in the united state is the left that wants to -- -- -- and impose their immorality or morality upon us.

So I think that what the conservative movement has to do is continue to articulate our defense.

Spirited of these institutions and of these traditions and not back away or an -- consider ourselves to be the problem.

All right congressman Thaddeus McCarthy and a lot of folks think he would be very interesting -- to have an an expert points well -- -- come -- -- America's News HQ if you wanna make any official announcement.

Pakistan all right.
