In our -- more -- fox tactic if you're new iPad owner chances are they're probably a few things you don't know how to do with the device considering it doesn't come with a -- I'm always surprised when I need someone that has an iPad and I show them some basic functions I figured.
-- take you through three of the most important ones if you're new iPad owner -- -- The first one is what's called search my iPad or spotlight search scroll to the left to get all the way to this first -- Type in anything that you want -- search on your iPad so let's say I'm searching for that song from Death Cab for Cutie.
And all of these songs come up those are all in my iPad.
Let's say -- trying to find that email where my friend mentioned having dinner and I don't wanna search through all my emails just type -- -- dinner.
There's the email -- there's the calendar invite for our -- Next up is multitasking perhaps one of the most important functions of the iPad that most people don't even know they can do.
What does it mean it allows you have multiple applications open and some running in the background if I want to.
Play music on pandora to go to the pandora app.
And I launch it and that I wanna go any email a friend close the application.
Go to email -- -- email I can start typing.
Now let's say I want to go back to pandora.
-- double tap this home button.
And my applications pop up that are currently running.
Go back to pandora and I want to listen or change the song and I was just listening to.
In pandora radio.
So if you want to jump between applications they're there they're open you don't need to really launch them.
But let me say this.
They're also running in the background so you want -- close these applications on a regular basis to close them hold each application down for a few seconds and still they start wiggling.
Tap that minus sign.
And that will kill the gap from running and like my mom asked when I -- that -- are you getting rid of the applications altogether you know.

They're just not running anymore once again if you're like mean you have hundreds of applications.
You've multiple pages of applications that you have to swipe through.
You can now create folders on your iPad so -- categorize all my folders.
An easy to find.
Little cubes and health children's applications shopping music books etc.
simply drag and application that you want to create a new folder.
Slide it on top of another application.
That you want to put in a folder together a folder icon will pop up.
And I can add multiple icons to this folder.
I can even -- name it whatever I want who can also lock which way the -- flows up down landscape portrait or whatever.
You can change that here's how.
Simply double tap the home button again and slide all the way to the left and over here on the far left is a little -- with a circular arrow.
And it'll lock your screen so when you turn it to one side or another it won't rotate anymore.
It'll stay the same way that you had once you once you -- the rotation lock to unlock it simply do the same thing and then the screen will reorient itself.
